Yeah, I tend to watch his stuff at increased speed or skip to the film reveal shots. I don't love his general focus on smaller scenes with large format, but I still appreciate the technical consistency and seeing some of the colors he gets from those shots. The podcast he's on with another large format shooter is unfortunately unlistenable though, and not at all because of Ben's slow and deliberate speaking style.

Common misconception that; that fun is relaxing. If it is, you're not doing it right.
I am the same with Ben Horne (and actually a fair few of them), generally 1.25-1.5x speed unless they're showing something pretty technical. There are lots of establishing shots, B-roll etc that I get make for a more cohesive video but aren't really what I'm there for.

I'd love some photography podcasts recs, actually!

A few more YT recs (I made a post a while back with some of my subs):

https://www.youtube.com/@SteveONions Steve O'Nions - old British dude who goes for long walks in the countryside, shoots with a variety of cameras/formats.

https://www.youtube.com/@TheNakedPhotographer The Naked Photographer - mostly analog darkroom stuff, big Midwestern Dad vibes

https://www.youtube.com/@InAnInstant Focuses mostly on instant photography, I could see his style being offputting to some, but I find it kinda endearing

https://www.youtube.com/@nickcarverphoto Panoramic landscapes on 6x17 is main focus

https://www.youtube.com/@BillSchwab Guy who does a lot of analog/alt process tutorials

I got this gentleman recommended to me. Nothing pretentious or flashy or anything - just an older guy with a calming southern accent talking about old cameras and then using them.

Yeah, I found that guy's channel after searching for videos about the Bronica S2A and came upon his.
