First pumpkin I carved this year, only one I have a picture of I've always wanted to try the relief carving but never have the tools on hand when I have the pumpkins ready so I just do an old fashioned stencil cut

Wife and I have performed additional ritualistic gourd sacrifices. It should be a good harvest. No fancy peeling of the flesh here, just basic bitch carving out chunks.

I can’t find anyone still selling pumpkins even though they are a general autumn decoration. Maybe everyone’s pumpkin stock froze in the snow storms. I don’t know. I wanted to carve a lot more for today, but I only have a few.

Few more The small ones had a different lacquer on them this time. The skinnier one had very pulpy flesh that wouldn’t cut into deep grooves neatly, but I still let it come along and do its best

My fiancee and I carved some pumpkins. Mine was pretty misshapen so I made the best of it.

I love seeing all the awesome pumpkins. I hate that carving season is coming to a close (I’m still going to carve more with fall decorations if I can find any more for sale )

I actually got it out before the first trick or treaters this year, which was nice. It'll be a puddle of mold and goop by tomorrow morning, they don't last long around here once they're open. It did not smell at all like a pumpkin and instead more like a cucumber, which was a new one for me.

Ha, way to make use of the shape! I'm a believer that the pumpkin is a three-dimensional canvas, and that anything you cut out of it can be used to add back onto it. Through liberal toothpick use. This year I tried for some sort of wolf thing: Doesn't really translate well when lit, though.
