Losing the Sea Dragons sucks because they had one of the better home crowds. Not as good as St. Louis or DC, but there was definitely a fanbase there, unlike any of the USFL teams except for maybe Michigan.

Any word on if they'll be using the USFL or XFL model for stadiums? DC and St. Louis had better home crowds than some NFL teams, and I think they need people in the stands cheering for their team if they're serious about keeping this league around

It didn’t say much. Seemed to be a memo to players about logistics. Pay (bad), how the dispersal draft for teams that are being dissolved will work and some dates. Arlington TX is the “league hub” whatever that means but teams will play home games somewhere in their home market.

That schedule is aUFuL, twelve straight weeks for the teams that go to the championship; no bye weeks during the season or between playoffs. I guess they think they need maximum exposure or people will forget about them.

I've made a huge mistake.
Matt Corral benched after the first quarter....

edit: the second QB got a leg injury on a scramble, so he's back in.

Very excited to root for the Panthers (until they're proven to be total failures again so I can switch back to the MOTHERFUCKIN' BATTLEHAWKS)

I believe the idea with Birmingham is that it’s a qb rotation. They’ll play each for a drive or two and switch off. They ran it like this the past two years.

It's always odd to watch a league where literally everyone wants to be somewhere else, but I really want it to succeed.

The Birmingham game was really good, at least judging from the highlights. Back and forth for most of it before the Stallions started to pull away. Fun to see Matt Corral play, he had a pretty good game although I do miss Alex McGough, he's always been fun to watch. Corral brings some similar stuff though. Birmingham looks good like they pretty much always have been.

As for the other game, man Michigan has such an aggressive defense I really like it. Plenty of blitzing and the D line just getting off blocks quickly. Michigan has always been scrappy. Bad, but scrappy. Looks like they've improved a little bit, and what an epic way to get the win.

Overall, really entertaining opening day for the UFL.

By the way, perhaps there should be a new thread now that's it's not the offseason. Maybe a combined N/V and GDT or one of each since most people don't care all that much about this league.

I think I know the tackle they are referring to. And yeah the form left something to be desired but you can't say he didn't give his all.
