So in a bunch of threads in the various dark and abandoned corners of this dead gay forum have been popping up with their own help/advice/suggestions/resources on how to get through the great 2020 roni isolation. Thought it might be a good idea to try and get the best bits of all that just in one place for all the goons that never leave the safety of their own board.

working from home
Could only find one okay resouce for this. Most of them were 100% about "increasing productive" not keeping ones self happy and healthy, so gently caress that poo poo. One major tip though! Sync up your breaks with either co-workers -if you get on with them- or mates, so you can have have a chat on break. Often breaks are social. I know when ever I went for a smoko, just chatting with the smoking group at work was part of what was so relaxing. Thinking about at work when anyone had a coffee break, cig break, or any other break, did you have a good chat to folks? If so, see if you can work out a way to do that working from home! Lunch/drinks after work, same! Even if it doesn't seem like much, it can be good to keep it up. either through internal work chat, or some other chat group (maybe not monitored by work?)

https://au.pcmag.com/get-organized/61100/20-tips-for-working-from-home (Get Organised: 20 Tips For Working From Home)
Most of the articles I tried to look up on this concentrated on "productivity." Many didn't even want you to play with your pets. Anyway there are probably far better articles then this, but at least it mentions some tips for keeping sane!

Also added Animal Crossing! Waffle!, I watched a few minutes of the video in that thread you linked, but between that and all the fanart, I was left horrible confused about what Animal Crossing actually is, so I added exactly what you wrote!

Lipstick Apathy
I've been avoiding contact with other people and putting off going to the grocery store for weeks at a time for years. Let me know if you need some tips and tricks.

Here's a freebie: don't have any of your bills on autopay, that way when you inevitably die alone someone will actually come looking for you

For grocery tips and tricks ask these kind people here!! https://forums.somethingawful.com/showthread.php?threadid=3916953 (Ma ma ma my corona (recipes)! Post your quaranBEAN recipes here!)

Also your freebie tip is good! Anyone worrying about money check any autopay stuff you have going on and if it is unnecessary cancel that poo poo. Necessary stuff, phone them up and see if you can get a discount/extension whatever you can work out.

Good tip for avoiding people, make a
plague flag and fly it above yourself when ever you go for a walk. Also if you can afford order in groceries!

I wish you luck! Any more question just ask!

it's kickin in dude
I been playing DayZ. It's not full on prepping me for apocalypse, but you definitely get put into situations that really make you think. I avoided playing it for a long time since seemed like a zombie game but it's definitely geared more toward survival.

I'm a dad though, so I am an mechanic turned educator now. Doing schoolwork assignments with the kid is actually very rewarding, if a little frustrating. Teachers are saints, for sure.

We've been playing go as well.

Drinking.

Painting.

Oh and eating like a king! I got to raid my brother in law's walk in cooler since they shut down completely. Huge bags of arugula and spinach, delicious multigrain pancakes. Yesterday I made fried rice with Korean barbeque chicken wings. I also have been cleaning and doing dishes a lot, slowly picking away at a giant pile of dirty laundry.

When things get desperate, I have a nice pile of drywall scrap, screws and mud, so I may end up finishing some projects I've started.

Oh yeah, teaching is always a whole nother level. The most rewarding work I've ever done is teaching. The best part is when you get them interested enough in a subject they read up by themselves, or they start making connections you didn't think they'd and get to places before you. :3:

Can't give you too much advice on this as the majority of my teaching stuff has been uni age or 60+ age. If your kid/s are primary school or early high I would say though, a lot of primary/high school education is social and experimentation. More so primary school, but still into to the better high schools. With early childhood being a lot about play. If your kid/s are later, social is a huge thing, maybe see if you can find out who's in their class, talk to those kids parents, and see if you can organize some activities/play times where they connect through a cam on a device or something. Kids are highly adaptable. You give them the tools to connect they'll figure out how they like to connect. Just try to adapt to that. If they are in high school they probably have all that sorted.

Anyway as I said teaching below uni isn't really my thing, so take everything I said with a huge grain of salt. Would really recommend posting a thread in Science, Academics and Languages. their is a whole bunch of teachers there and I'm sure there is a whole bunch of other people in your exact situation.

Also painting, not sure if you mean upkeep or creative. If creative check out the The Traditional Art Thread: Let's Get Our Hands Dirty thread. I haven't done any painting since studio arts in high school, but oh god that was fun. Totally anarchy but spent way more time on it then any other class. Painting is awesome. If you have time to do it, do it!

And oh god, fried rice with Korean barbecue chicken wings sounds so god drat tasty. Although honestly if you're doing fried rice right with chicken or pork, you need to gently caress up pretty bad for it not to just be the best. Particular if the chicken or pork is bbq'ed.
