Corepunk is the next MMORPG that you'll try in an effort to recapture the happiness you felt in your wasted youth. It's a top-down perspective game with an open, non-instanced open world and a fog of war system that encourages players to explore. The open beta is supposed to happen in Q4 of 2020. Info is kind of limited right now, but here's a few things we know. Business mode Buy to play + cosmetics. No cash shop that affects gameplay. Classes 12 classes at launch, each with 3 weapon specializations (each with unique abilities), plus 9 branches of a passive talent tree. Classes are divided into standard MMO roles with tank, healer, DPS and something the devs are calling "support". Endgame The devs have stated that the game will be divided into 40% leveling and 60% end game activities. The end game consists of raids, static dungeons, randomized dungeons, world bosses and PvP. PvP Arenas and battlegrounds will be in the game. Honor point system for killing players of a similar level and a karma system that penalizes griefing newbies. Karma can get so low that you achieve criminal status where you're not allowed to enter cities and you lose certain equipment at death. Combat Combat looks..deliberate? Slow? Despite the top-down perspective, this is not Diablo style combat. It looks more like a MOBA than an ARPG. Check the videos below to get a better idea of how combat works. There isn't much info on tradeskills, crafting and mounts aside from the fact that they exist. I'm cautiously optimistic after watching the 15 minutes of gameplay video. I really like the sound design and graphics. I'm a little worried that the combat looks a little too slow, but I think we've only seen low level stuff so far. The gameplay video looks like it could be alright. It just depends what abilities are in the game and how they work, because that video only showed the fundamentals.

Man, whomever did that trailer deserves a raise. That was so hype I was almost mildly interested in what appears to be Albion Online but pandered to the WoW audience.

randombattle posted:2020 open beta? Their closed beta had a ton of feedback they acted on that resulted in pushing back the date due to a pretty big overhaul of core gameplay. No idea if the game will ever come out or be good, but as far as "why is this MMO behind schedule" goes Corepunk has some legitimate reasons.
