Teach the child that a Lipton's tea bag is only good for placing on an open wound if you can't find a bandage

Throwing a cup of scalding hot aged puer into the face of Lipton's drinking children, to show them who's boss.

Shoutout to this kid whose dream breakfast is just toast
Idk man. You get a good butter spread going and toast is pretty rad.
Man, kids are so easy to please when it comes to breakfast. You give em a pop-tart and they act like you gave em a five star delight.

Is there a thread for BYOB teachers?
Recently I've been getting an uncontrollable amount of gas but I've just been letting it loose in class because nobody suspects the teacher.

i could become a secondary school teacher in history class, but i'm pretty sure that using a public teacher's position to do agitprop might get me fired. also i'm not sure how many 13yos have read and understood lacan anyway
I have posted about this before but I think the current generation of children are super cool. Like, some adults make fun of "kids and their cell phones" but I think meme culture has made them cleverer. Before you could just exist and that was that. Now you have the pressure to be funny not just to your peer group but to others in your society in general. Sucks for them but sweet for us. *Maybe* I am exaggerating a tiny bit but for real would it have been believable if I told you that something on the front page of an aggregator was made by a 12 year old 15 years ago? Because that's a distinct possibility today.

friend, I had a whole breakdown last year (or maybe two years ago? Idk) to DCT about whether I could continue teaching despite knowing that as a public school teacher my two basic options are 1) continue being the pedagogical wing of capital and working in a way that only results in the replication of current class structures in younger generations or 2) Say gently caress that, and do my own thing.
now I teach history explicitly using the historical materialist lens, and while I dont talk explicitly about the fact that I am a communist, I have been pushing the bar at every possibility I can, including using marx and engels this year in my back to school night presentation, and I try to decentralize western thought in my ancient history curriculum as well. In English I've pushed my team to use texts that directly confront issues such as racism, classism, and sexism, and even managed to make the big 6th grade research paper at my school be about researching leftist organizers and how their work directly impacted at risk communities or the environment.
to be fair, I also generally assume that I will likely never be fired from this position for someone complaining that I teach socialism to the students, because I am a bright spot in the turd that is my district/school. But that's not to say you cant teach in ways that critique capitalism and other systems of oppression, I try to surround myself with people who teach secondary who do just that.
