Matt Sydall is 100% unnecessary to AEW and I hope that's the last we see of him

I'm 100% fine with him showing up as one off things while he works the Indies.

i'm trying to think of a way to make the indie appearances cooler than they are, because right now it's just someone blowing through town, and they do a great job giving them hype/music/video, but i mean more presentation wise, and perhaps working the fact that they do these matches into the broader stories they're telling

making like an Independent Elite faction of 15-20 dudes who have the same music/package/sometimes kit/colors and treating them like a really fluid stable or something

I think you just get more of them in positions like Diamante and Rosa. Even if they aren't sticking around you have stakes to what they're doing, a reason why they would want to win this thing here (like the tag tournament) to give it more prestige just by virtue of them being there, or title matches where you have the "what if they win and take the belt with them" thing going on.

E: Even with the jobbers you could do stuff like the first thing. Imagine they had a men's singles tournament cup, and that's where M'Badu had first shown up. Even if he wasn't known, you have the announcers work "this mother fucker came all the way from NIGERIA just to compete for a chance to win the AEW G1!" or whatever.

BAEST MODE!!!
It gets said all the time but it really is wild how much Anna Jay's screen presence has improved every time she's on screen. She's so much more comfortable in this role every week.

I don't think they would say mother fucker on TV but it would help them make their tournament win seem prestigious and sought after, which would be good, if they said it politely
