I’m hoping someone can remember this game. There was a thread, I believe it was in GBS, but possibly in Games, that hosted this game. It was like RISK, there was a map of the world, broken up into a bunch of territories. If I remember correctly, there were a LOT more territories than in a game like RISK. Maybe close to 100? Anyway, it started by goons coming in and each claiming a territory, until they were all taken. I think you could name it whatever you wanted as well. I’m pretty sure it wasn’t hosted on a website, but rather all custom made/run by a goon. He would update the map and everyone’s statistics each week. Once it was filled, there was a set schedule where by a certain day/time, each territory could pick their next action. They could do stuff like attack another territory, invest in technology, invest in economy, etc. There was a whole list of actions available, and formulas as to what you could do with money, etc. People were free to make alliances with other territories, which would usually result in stabbing each other in the back at some point. I remember it was really cool but I lost pretty quickly because I had no idea what I was doing. Does anyone remember this?

“Divided We Stand” That game made me laugh a lot at a time when it was really, really needed and the weather in my head was rough. So happy to be the one to answer one of these for once. The version I most vividly recall took place in North America and the territories were claimed and named (and frequently given flags and excellent backstories.) They included places like, “Grand Caliphate of the Lesser Antilles,” and things of that sort. Fake edit: Found some stuff!! Starting Territory: Miami Nation Name: Antilles (Full name "Kingdom of the Lesser Antilles") Nation Faction: Unaligned Starting Territory: Chicago (#615) Nation Name: Sex Criminal Boat Nation Faction: Patriot Union Starting Territory: Trenton (#774) Nation Name: RAPECO Nation Faction: Federated Peoples Starting Territory: Acuna (#887) Nation Name: Hitlerland Nation Faction: Social Revolution Starting Territory: Eugene (#104) Nation Name: weed paradise Nation Faction: Social Revolution Starting Territory: Butte (#202) Nation Name: Gomorrah Nation Faction: New Zion Starting Territory: Seattle (#1) Nation Name: Starbucks Coffee Company Nation Faction: Coalition Starting Territory: Ottawa (#42) Nation Name: Harper's Government Nation Faction: Patriot Union Starting Territory: Salt Lake City (#175) Nation Name: Mormandy Nation Faction: New Zion Starting Territory: Detroit (#588) Nation Name: The Islamic Republic of Dearborn Nation Faction: Unaligned Starting Territory: Fort Collins (#845) Nation Name: United Republic of Valor, Vigor, and Vitriol (VVV) Nation Faction: The Coalition Starting Territory: Vancouver(#3) Nation Name: New Beijing Nation Faction: The Coalition Starting Territory: Philadelphia (#791) Nation Name: Illadelphia Nation Type: Federated Peoples Nuking whoever picks Wilkes-Barre and/or Scranton. I think you only got one or two of those things. ADDITIONAL FAKE EDIT: (inexplicably saved bits incoming!) Turn One Let the game begin! We have exactly 150 players, which is... ahem... slightly more than I anticipated. But this will be nothing short of amazing. All cards have been divvied out, territories assigned, and soldiers added to defending players' cities. Already we're seeing interesting blocs forming of specific factions. Socialist nations in Mexico have grouped together. Coalition forces have banded together in upper Michigan and the Pacific Northwest. Federation nations are looking to solidify the Northeast. A few points on your first turn: - Remember to follow the Turn Report guidelines in the rules. If you're unsure of what to do, watch what other players are doing, then make a similar post. - You may play as many of your cards this turn as you'd like, but you'll only be drawn one card before Turn 2. - If you add soldiers to your first territory's military, you may use them in combat immediately. Each player has 1 soldier and 1 loyalty by default, so it will require at least two turns to knock any one player out (unless two players gang up on a player - watch your backs!) ———————— - Republic of Ham (née Montreal) Acting Provost Aldus is currently seeking representatives of the following late-Montreal "social" and "ethnic" clubs for a non-official discussion of our city's future. - Rizzutos (any of you guys left) - Hells Angels - Triads/proprietors of New Dynasty Restaurant Let's talk, break bread, sort out our differences, and get the Republic of Ham where it needs to be: a safe distance away from an assload of missile silos filled with nukes pointed at Quebec City. Sincerely, Aldus Lovelace PS - This is NOT a trap. ————————————— Previously a bustling metropolis and self-proclaimed center of international trade and commerce, the falling bombs devastated the population of this coastal city, which had more citizens than it had room to offer respite from the hailing death. In the bunkers, rumours of massive loss of life above ground, coupled with a lack of supplies or government aid caused a viscous backlash of feral panic and anger amongst the surviving scant population. Many that would have perished to the bombs instead succumbed to paranoid madness, hundreds of feet under empty pockmarked streets. When the few hundred survivors finally came blinking out of their bunkers into the new era, they were stunned to see all that they had known laying in ruin. A few days of scavenging later they were equally surprised by cargo ships showing up at the once-busy docks. Mostly from mainland China, these shipping merchants had been in the pacific when the warheads fell, and had attributed the radio silence to an error in their own equipment. Finding themselves without the supplies to make the trip home, and not certain that conditions would be any different if they should even arrive, they quickly resolved to form a new colony with the surviving locals, who were in no position to refuse such an alignment. On a new continent, in a new era, New Beijing was born. ————————————- Zhang Tian Rui - Captain of the Xiu Jin, the largest of the shipping vessels which arrived at the empty port. Zhang Tian Rui comes from a long line of multilingual trade negotiators and is democratically motivated, following the Chinese concept of minzhu for political guidance. Looked up to in the international shipping community for his honesty and commitment to equal rights trade, he was quickly nominated to lead the people of New Beijing into a new age. To his quiet regret he was assigned the title of Baron of New Beijing, and upon entering power, his first act was to commission a flag to represent his new nation. ________________________ Turn 1 ### Nation: New Beijing Player: Velocibacon Cards: Play "Celebration" on Vancouver Play "Organization" on Vancouver Play "Espionage" on Cbouncerrun's "Inspired Legion" Military: None

There was a real cool site that was an online risk clone. Had TONS of maps and you could play with tons of people on teams or as individuals. My favorite was the USA map where every county was a territory and you got bonuses for 2-5 regions of the state depending on size, then a mega bonus once you captured the whole state. Was wild and crazy, just hope you picked some cool starting spots and can build your armies up before you run into anyone. Thanks for reading!
