Last year in America I stopped at a McDonald's in Georgia and while I was waiting for my vanilla milkshake the guy working there sweeping, who looked like Jake Gyllenhall, said out of absolutely nowhere "Have you ever heard of the Sun City Girls?"

If you know who they are then you already know how loving weird that was.

If you don't know then learn yourself.

Their best starting point is Dante's Disneyland Inferno, especially the one-two punch of "Bitter Cold Countryside" and "Ruby on the Ferris Wheel":

But they have dozens of albums, a long and storied history. They did stoner rock epics on Torch of the Mystics! They did carnival music. They at one time lived in India as street musicians. Or did they???

Isn't Dante's Disneyland Inferno one of the ones with a lot of spoken word stuff on it? i don't think any of those are a good starting point really. Torch of the Mystics is probably the one to go with.

DDD is extremely long and does have a few spoken word pieces, but I consider that a strength!

Though yeah, Torch of the Mystics is their most conventional record, I suppose.
