how strong is the mouse?

It's a rat.

Personally, I could defeat about two thirds of the animals listed by running like gently caress, then telling everyone I kicked rear end.

Pffft, how about a casowary, a psycho chunkier ostrich sized bird that will eagerly disembowel you with its 5 inch dinosaur like claws?
Or an emu, a bird which won a war against Australia?

Dumbass Aussies tried to use bullets when they should have used karate.

How's a cassowary gonna disembowel me when my new balances turned his spine into a fine mist with a single snap kick?

if its not to the death and just escaping or dissuading the other one then the power rankings definitely get shuffled up

i mean yeah, but I went with Kangaroo. Maybe not that Buff Kanga that's passed around like eye candy. But a mama, or a joey, for sure.

and how can people be sure they'd take a monkey, but not a snake? Is this an arena setup? In nature?

these are all extremely good questions thank you for asking. So I ordered in rough order of what would probably be hardest to kill, which I guess is also in reverse order of how likely respondents were to say they could take it. So then you would just vote for the hardest one you think you could beat.

I personally chose kangaroo but as always this stuff exists on a spectrum, but in general I think you might be able to get a really good shot on one and then finish the job. I think the rankings are a bit off because I don't think I could beat an eagle. Really your only path to victory is to hope it fucks up somehow and then finish the job but that is very unlikely. Although they often rely on the element of surprise, which would be removed in a staged fight.

I am going to go ahead and say that this is a roman gladiator-style - door opens and there's an animal out there. All you see is sand, walls and the animal. And you are in your skivvies.

Note that the land situation is extremely important when it comes to alligators/crocodiles because on land they're beatable. But in water I think you could replay a human-vs-croc fight maybe a billion times and the human might come out on top once.

Also this is important the snake is a king cobra which is VERY beatable. They basically strike directly downward (along an arc, but straight nonetheless) so you just have to sort of get to the side of it and then kick it in the head. A boa constrictor is a different story, I don't see a path to victory there.
