NtotheTC posted:thats pubs hosed for weeks then- clinkz is hot dogshit unless you're Ame apparently There's three obvious options for me (all series are Bo1) 1: Round robin and hope for the best 2: Double Elimination bracket 3: semi-double elimination bracket, the two winners of the first round play for the #2 seed, the two losers play to not be eliminated, then the two remaining teams (loser of winners bracket and winner of losers bracket) either play for seeding or flip a coin or something I'd do option 2 myself, seems fairest and prevents endless tiebreakers (which are fun as a viewer but probably a nightmare for the tournament organizer and players).

rjmccall posted:Bo1 round-robin feel like that has the potential to screw with the schedule if you start getting 1-1-1-1s you'd have to do something like (BO1s): g1: t1 v t2 g2: t3 v t4 g3: winnerg1 v winnerg2 (winner UB) g4: loserg1 v loserg2 g5: loserg3 v winnerg4 (winner LB p1) g6: loserg4 v loser g5 (winner LB p2, loser eliminated) e: now that I visualise it, that's just a double elimination bracket. not sure how they seed it but it doesnt really matter NtotheTC fucked around with this message at 18:06 on Apr 24, 2024 |

I’m not going to argue that a GSL bracket wouldn’t be the best way to do these tiebreakers, but the published tiebreaker rules are Bo1 round-robin.

Well, hat tip to the organizers, it did in fact perfectly sort the teams. Sad about Spirit. Maybe don’t lose all your first games, boys.
