Ghettotech is a genre of music with roots in Detroit Techno and Rap. It's defined by sped up hip hop style beats and repetitive sexually explicit (often downright nasty) vocals. The most well known track of the genre is probably "rear end N Titties" by DJ Assault but there are a quite a few DJs and producers (mostly from Detroit) who put out really fun records. The music is heavily associated with the "Jit", a footwork style dance. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fIMFFftOF4U - "Gimme Head" by Disco D aka DJ Deeon https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wkqtSHBQ3Pw - "Sex on the Beach 2000" by Mr De https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gG6TS6mJfy0 - "In Da Club Before Eleven O'clock" - DJ Rashad https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Ls9uRGWabg - "Godzilla" - DJ Slugo (DJ Godfather Remix) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HWDU4S7-TzM - "G-String" - DJ Assault https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OSSGccDQNXM - Here is a guy who runs a Dance studio showing off the Jit https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lv3d8owdUDo&t=18s - A few guys taking a break to dance in the street This type of music, and Bass music in general is experiencing a bit of a resurgence through Youtube DJs like PartiBoi69, and Bass artists like Big Freeida. I really prefer the stripped down dance floor ready beats over more recent "festival style" EDM. Alot of these tracks were made in people's basements and garages. I grew up with these tracks and Detroit Techno in general and realize it was quite a local phenomenon but caught on in Europe where there is a broader palate for electronic music. Enjoy shaking your rear end and offending your neighbor's delicate sensibilities.

I was thinking of making a house music thread OP. House music is cool, it has the same origins as modern rap and hip hop and r&b, but eventually faded out in favor of the more instrumental or europop style. But 'classic' ghettotech house is making a big come back lately, I listen to house sets a lot. Partiboi69 The K-tech god of Australia. This dude is amazing. He has a bunch of hour+ long sets on YouTube and a handful of singles, many featuring other DJs in the scene. He tends to favor a loud and heavy sound, and I'm a huge fan. https://youtu.be/HzqW5CfKVLE MCR-T The house king of Miami, this dude does excellent sets and does some pretty sick raps sometimes, as well as a smooth singing voice to augment his sets and singles. He always gets me pumped. https://youtu.be/niHo2_tIx3g WAXTAX-N DRE A local Detroit house DJ who's kept the style alive over the drought of the last 20ish years, he recently started doing sets on YouTube live. I prefer the slightly more modern style of Partiboi69 and MCR-T etc but he's still very talented and I highly recommend him. https://youtu.be/oXYzan3eB08 Larry Parrish fucked around with this message at 01:37 on Jan 16, 2022 |

This came on a YouTube music station I made off of a random house mix and it's been stuck in my head for months. https://youtu.be/Cgcg6Hv1PdE Its hard to tell with house I think whether it's r&b/etc or full on edm, and this one is probably closer to EDM, but it's a sick jam.
