I don't think!

I just found out there is a huge internet archive where you can access all kinds of books and magazines for free.

I looked at "Humor and Cartoon" magazines and there's a ton of Mad-like stuff including this one from 1981. The quality of the scan is great, I really wasn't expecting it to look that good.

Here's a parody of MASH

Some of the jokes haven't aged so well... but i find it kinda fascinating

There's also a ton of hobby magazines. Of course they are like 90% ads. Here's a diving magazine from 1975.
Sea snakes!

I thought this was cool, maybe everyone already knows about it but there's so much material to look through and I'm sure goons can think of better things to search for than me.

https://archive.org/details/attentionkmartshoppers is a collection of full length mix tapes that were distributed and played over k-mart pa systems in the 70s and 80s, complete with ads and store bumpers

https://archive.org/details/ConnectionsByJamesBurke an ok quality set of james burke bbc documentaries about the invention of all sorts of things. worth watching even 30 years later

After reading all the horrors in the cave diving thread and then reading this, I am ready to dive to my doom.

The best time to cave dive is:

A.) After a heavy meal
B.) While drinking
C.) Never. Why the gently caress are you diving underwater in a cave? What the gently caress do you think is even down there you dumbass? Don't go into underwater caves, ever. Or even most regular caves. Don't even go into some deeper holes. Just stop you moron.

This is actually the correct answer.

EDIT: I originally read A as “Heavy Metal”. My answer still stands :colbert:

Imagine listening to Electric Wizard while you sink into the blackness and drown. But you don’t care because you’re too drunk on alcohol and nitrogen. Sign me up!
