I always had a soft spot for the Group B 6R4, no turbo when everybody else had them. The DOHC v6 ended up in the Jag XJ220. This is what NHRA.com has to say on the matter: Top Fuel Dragsters: The fastest-accelerating vehicles in the world, these are the most recognizable of all drag race cars. The 25-foot-long landlocked missiles can cover the quarter-mile in 4.4 seconds at speeds faster than 335 mph. The engine of choice is an aluminum version of the famous Chrysler Hemi. The supercharged, fuel-injected nitromethane-burning engines produce an estimated 7,000 horsepower.

Fifth Gear just pitted the Audi S5 versus the 335i: http://youtube.com/watch?v=aHj0zbhjLZI Honestly, I'm surprised at the result. But to be truly fair, they should have run several laps and taken the average.

Yuck. Now I remember one of the (many) reasons that I no longer watch 5th gear. VBH is just .... grrr... why don't they have someone competent on hand to actually put the cars through their paces? Like, oh, I don't know, an ex-touring car racer, or maybe that other racer fellow who also happens to host the show? Are you sure that wasn't just 5th gear trying to imitate all the drivers from SIARPC?

Now, if you were to say that her voice is grating and annoying, that would be a valid complaint.

That definitely looks like the sort of zaniness that we've come to expect from those UAE folks. It sounds like the engine was starting to overheat right towards the end of his shenanigans, but daaaaaamn.... Best public road burnout ever. Oh, and does VBH still do that lovely diner segment with whatshisface? That bit should have been used instead of waterboarding to get inmates talking - although there might be more cases of self-inflicted harm.
