Yeah, but you have to clean years worth of trash out of the thing, and more importantly, get it to the junkyard. Factor in a tow, and the owner would probably be lucky to break even. I'd bet that if you replied to the ad with, "I'll take it off your hands for nothing," you'd get an immediate positive response.

Are you talking about for the Cummins engine alone?

What I see in that rig:

Rust-free body with clean paint (that alone is worth a few thousand)
$3000-ish in suspension work
$2000 transmission (yeah, those 5 speeds are loving pricey)
Cummins 4BT (could be had cheap depending upon where he got it from, but I suspect a reputable source)
Labor to install it (that's probably $5k right there).

$20k is a perfectly acceptable price to pay for that rig. I think Proffitts' Cruisers charges around $20-25k for the Cummins install, including engine.

1982 TOYOTA CORONA LUXURY EDITION - $1200

White 4 door hatchback, tan interior, automatic, 4 cylinder, AC, it has 203,000 miles and still running strong. California title.
$1200.00 Firm

The body and interior is in great condition, original owners manual still in glove box.

I purchased the car Feb 1, 2008 because of Toyota's reputation for reliability and great gas mileage (it runs forever on a tank of gas). I just can't get used to a little car, I need another full size truck. (especially when my kids and their friends think I'm their personal taxi!!)

Feb 14, I took in in for an oil change, radiator hose replacement, new air cleaner and emmisions test, it passed.
It does need maintenance on the exhaust pipe, it rattles against the underside of car and has corrosion holes.

Three original hubcaps on car, it is missing one, Hubcap Annies on the corner of Eastern/Charleston are searching the for an original replacement.

Serious inquiries only please. 735-3613 or 465-7159

What does this guy think a "little car" is? Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't the Corona have unspectacular fuel economy, and wasn't it Toyota's biggest US car, and not particularly small regardless?

Regardless, that's tempting.

1987 CRX Si, fully stock, in pretty good condition, 57k miles, bidding is over $3,000 and the reserve isn't met. I'm searching for a first-gen CRX, and this makes me sad (my last one cost $250 - wish I would have hung on to it :( ).

Fake edit: Yes, I know these CRXs are primitive by comparison to the second-gen cars, but I love the first-gens and I can't explain it. I love the first-gen Integra, too, so there's obviously a trend here.

The first gen CR-Xs are great. This thread on a 1st gen Integra forum has some amazing pictures of this really clean all stock first gen that I would kill somebody to own.

It doesn't even look like he photoshopped it. Rather that he just went into MSpaint. Smeared some gray on there and called it a day. He couldn't even be bothered to clean it up and make it half-way believable judging by the overspray into the wheel well.

I'm certain that there's $100 special from Frys sometime. Besides, the $100 you spend on a camera is going to more than offset the lowballs you'll get from the only people interested enough to see through the grainy mess that is the photo of their car they took at 8:30 at night because they lack a clue.

That reminds me of a car that a friend and I went to look at. My friend was replacing his truck and hoping to get something with better mileage. So he went on craigslist and printed off the ads for anything that looked interesting (nothing had pics :().

We were driving to see one, and he'd called and made an appointment. Apparently the guy had it in the garage where he works, so he had to bring it out front so we could see it. As we were trying to find the place we saw him pull out. He hadn't mentioned, except in one small line that said 'body kit', that the car was completely riced out. All bad parts, primer, different colors, you name it.

We just kept driving.
