Here's a throw back - I remember seeing a music video in the late 80's or early 90's that had a baby boy as a singer. The video had him rolling around in a stroller wearing sunglasses with a super-hot mom while schmoozing all the little baby girls.

The song was total gibberish other than the word "Baby" and it was irritating as gently caress.

Any ideas what it was called or where I could find it?

Okay, here's one. It's an old rock song from the mid 70s - think Lynard Skynard or something like that. It was a fairly popular song (it's still on the radio sometimes) and it was by a band that I never heard anything else from. This may mean it was a one-hit wonder, but my knowledge of bands like this is nowhere near extensive, so I could be wrong.

The only thing I remember about the lyrics is that I *think* it mentioned something about a "genie" in the chorus.

This is even more frustrating because I used to know the name of it and now I can't remember.

I'm now trying to find a music video, all I can remember is that it took place outdoors in a canyon-y area, and there was quite a bit of vocalization without words. They used to have it as one of two music video demos on the computers at the local Radio Shack years ago. It sounded kinda like On My Way by Rusted Root, or Desert Rose by Sting. I think the other demo was something by Phil Collins.

I will not go down the hole again good sir.
I got a song on a mix awhile back, and the person did not know who it was. I have tried searching for the lyrics but have had no luck. He thinks the song is called Let's Get Funkee.

It has female vocals, and sounds like a generic early 90's dance track. Think C+C Music Factory. The first verse is:

There is something on my mind
Makes me want wiggle my behind
Moving to the funky beat
Takes complete control of me

Other than that is just women singing "I gotta get get gotta get funky"

Anyone know who made this song?

There's this dance-pop song that keeps playing at my work. It comes off kind of theatrical. The only lyrics I can remember are when the guy belts out "Allllll myyyyy liiiife". Even if I guessed that was the song title, "All My Life" is probably the most common song title in existence. I have only heard the song on my employer's pre-selected music CD, so its not exactly a popular radio tune. The song must have come out in the 21st century, as these CDs only contain new music. I know its definitely of the pop/dance persuasion and nothing incredibly obscure, I just don't know the genre very well. I can't check what songs are on each CD as the player is locked up.

I actually like it, so help if you can. Sorry the details are so lovely. :(

It sounds like Electronic - "Getting Away With It", but that's from 1989. Maybe a cover version?

Does anyone know what song(s) (if any--it could be purely original, I'm not sure) 808 State sampled for their song "Europa"? Tremendously overlooked.

Amazon stream clip: http://www.amazon.com/Gorgeous-808-State/dp/B000000HJ5

Also, what's that really happy sounding, fast Cure song with the upbeat synth line? Not "Close to Me,"- it's more of a sawtooth wave. I think it's from their later stuff but I'm not sure. It's almost pop-punky but kind of dancy too and it might have a I-V-VI-IV chord progression or something similar. I've gone through their top 50 on last.fm and I'm pretty sure it's not any of those.

I don't know anything about the chord progressions, but is it Inbetween Days? It's pretty similar to Close to Me.

does anyone know the name of the song that played on those early UNIVERSAL studio DVDs? It would have a preview of all the great moments/money shots of UNIVERSAL movies and play when you put in a DVD. I swear it was on the MUMMY DVD but its not. it had corny text like "YOU THOUGHT YOU KNEW MOVIES" or something like that but the song was very beautiful.

This song is one of those corny 60s comedy tunes. It has a dopey-sounding guy in sort of a Droopy the Dog voice commiserating with the listener, like: "Say, pal, did you're wife leave to get a corned beef sandwich and the sandwich came back but your wife didn't?" or, "Say, did your wife send all your cotton suits to the cleaner and now you gotta wear you itchy, hot tweeds, and the weatherman says it's gonna be 106 out today?" etc etc. He brings up lots of hapless-60s-dope situations . And then every once in a while the chorus blasts in with marching-band like fanfare and boom-snare and the guy yells something to the effect of, "Go out there and say, 'It's my day!'" Apparently it was a "hit" way back when.

I am trying to find the artist or song title for a song that played on Portland radio last night.

It was not typical gangster or club rap. This was a longish song with very fluid lyrics. They seemed more like another instrument than vocals.

It played on Jammin' 95.5 in Portland OR last night (May 10th) at 2AM

Me and my other friends thought it was awesome and want to find out who it was.

^^This is just a shot in the dark based on your description, but maybe it was something by Lyrics Born. He's got a new CD out. Fluid lyrics, and not your typical rap stuff.

Im looking to identify a song.

I think it was hit from possibly the fifties though perhaps earlier, and i think the lyrics went something like "Sally, sally, sally from the ally" though im not certain if it was in fact sally, it may hve been another name.

I have a feeling Freddie Mercury covered it solo, though again i'm not really sure if it was the same song, it may have just sounded similar.

I really cant remember the lyrics except for words like "wonder why", "daddy just a trick" something something quick. Yeah, poo poo example I know but I'm hoping thats good enough. Any ideas? From what I remember the song was about some girl telling off a guy and warning him about something.

OK, this one should be pretty easy. I know the name of the song, it's Spin Spin Sugar by Sneaker Pimps.

However, there is one version I had that I really, really liked. It's this version found on YouTube.

Now the problem. I have several Sneaker Pimps albums and the Spin Spin Sugar remix EP, and this version isn't on any of them. I had the mp3 at one time, but I lost it in a hard drive crash years ago. Can anyone tell me which version this is?

Hopefully somebody knows this, since I know both the band and the song title.

I had a copy of Broken Social Scene's Shampoo Suicide on mp3 many moons ago then my computer crashed and I lost it. It wasn't the version off the album--seems to me I remember it being a live version, maybe from Detroit, but I can't find anything like that anywhere. It was way better than the album version. I hope somebody knows. :(

This has been driving me nuts. I'm trying to remember the name and artist behind a dumb pop song that must be somewhere between 3 and 6 years old at this point.

The artist was a female with dark hair and I believe multiple syllables in both names. She may have been between 15 and 21 when the song was released. It was some kind of happy send-up of how great life was, and the video was set in a supermarket, she was walking around singing and I think the price tags on each item were either animated or had some other role in the video. At the time I saw it I remember thinking "the lyrics are about how fluffy and happy everything is, but she's in a loving store, this is inadvertant propaganda of a society of consumers!"

I know that's not much to go on, so, I will paypal $5 to anyone who can correctly identify this for me. I remember liking the song a lot despite thinking it was bubblegum crap, and this is driving me nuts.

edit: this might be helpful and might be a red herring; she may be canadian.
