I don't remember how the song goes at all. I saw the video on viva polska and it had boobs and a fat dude in a silvery robe and a "star hat".

The video was like a european version of blinged out rap album covers, except the star hat guy was super creepy. I last saw the video in January while I was in Kyrgyzstan. Sorry I can't be more helpful than that.

From this description, it HAS to be Verka Serduchka - Dancing Lasha Tumbai

(He's in the silver robe and hat a little way into the song.)

This may be a longshot, but it's a song I heard in a bar on an isolated beach at night in Thailand while I was drunk and having a very enlightening moment with someone, I'd really like to find it if I could.

I only distinctly remember a couple things about the song, that the singer/male was a very fast talker and was singing practically nonstop. He had a soft voice, sounded like Mika (might have been), and the music was mostly a soft organ maybe synthesizer playing upbeat/quickly, reminded me of something Jamiroquai might play.

Any guesses or leads?

That's a fantastic guess, but not it, the tone of the music is pretty close, but with not so much of a drum beat. The singer's voice wasn't at all overproduced or anything, voice was moving a lot faster, not really a distinct chorus like that one. Just one guy singing through the whole song, too fast to pick out lyrics to google later.

(Then they started playing some hard eurotrash techno... bah was hoping for some album to be on)

e: I've heard that Blue October song before, I get the feeling that the song I'm looking for wasn't a single (in North America at least), maybe a lesser known track on an album

Any chance anyone can help me identify a comedian based on the following criteria? He performed at Laugh Factory in NYC on December 9th, 2007, was heavyset, and told a story something like the following. A friend and I met him on the 6 train when I was down for a weekend, and he was just chatting with us for a few stops. He was hilarious and it'd make my month if someone can help me figure out his name.

He's in college in a big city, I think NYC, and two black guys come up to him and ask him if he'll sign them in to a college-owned building where there's a party. He does it, just out of niceness. He follows them upstairs, he is the only white person at the whole party out of hundreds of black people. I don't remember exactly the order of events, but I remember that he lost the two black guys and had to find them. He was responsible for the guests who he signed in, and one of them brought a gun to the party and I believe actually discharged it. Anyone remember an act like this?

a) what songs it sampled
b) what songs it's been sampled in

does anyone know what i'm talking about? it's like the-breaks or breaksource or the-beats or something like that.

I ask because I just got GZA's Liquid Swords finally and I'm trying to figure out where I've heard the keys sample in the background of Hell's Wind Staff/Killa Hills 10304 - I want to say maybe somewhere in Training Day?

Giving another try to find this song

quote:

First one is a song that plays on the muzak at my work, it's an up tempo song kinda like Bang on the Drums, starts with a group of people saying "Ahhh beep beep" several times and then it sounds like they're singing at a street party and something about staying up all night.

I heard it again this morning at the store and from what I could here the chorusy part went something like "bang bang, c'mon baby bang bang c'mon baby". The beep beep part is more chanted than sung.

My Google-Fu has failed I leave it in your hands.

Could you be mishearing the lyrics to Donna Summer - Bad Girls? It has the right rhythm ("bad girls, talkin' bout the sad girls..."), opens with some chanted "beep beep" lines, and talks about how they're out on the streets at night.

Nope, most of the lyrics I can recall are sung by a guy except the beep beep parts which are musically chanted by a group.

Ok, I'm after a song from either 1998 or 1999.

It was played quite often on "WJRR" in Orlando, an FM rock station, which if I recall correctly would often play bands like Marcy Playground, Oleander, Our Lady Peace, Collective Soul, Candlebox, etc. (for reference of the style/genre).

The song I'm after has a lyric in the chorus about a kaleidoscope, and I have this lingering feeling that it mentions a color... something like "rose-colored" or "green-tinted."

It's been one of those little things bugging me for years now. Thanks!

edit: It's not Sevendust - Beautiful.

Hmm, anyone good with picking songs from music video descriptions?

I remember a video from a few years back that had a car stopping on (what I remember to be) a dusty road, and two or three guys in suits step out and walk away.

The rest of the video is the car exploding in super-slow-motion with parts of the car flying past the camera as it happened (camera doesn't move for the whole video, including when the guys get out of the car).

That's all I know, I remember liking it but for the life of me can't even remember what genre it was in.

Google has nothing but slow motion car explosions from youtube, unfortunately!
