I'm looking for a song that blends jazz, r&b, blues, and swing. It's pretty new and I heard it on my college's local radio station. It's by an artist who usually works on visual things, and this is her first effort in music. The refrain repeats "like the living dead now." It was out of this world, and I must buy the entire album. Also the album it is on seems to be the first of three planned. This one is called "The Metropolitan Suite." God bless who ever can figure this out. edit: there were also occasional blares of some kind of brass instrument, I think trumpet. MegaGatts fucked around with this message at 06:53 on Sep 13, 2008 |

I heard a song about a month ago on a college radio station while driving through Lubbock, TX and I can't seem to track it down. It was kind of an alt-country thing, but the singer had a really distinctively sort of whiney voice. The lyrics were kind of a story of 20th century America if I remember right. There was a line that was something like, "the hippies rode off leaving smiles behind" or something similar. I've googled variations of that but no luck. Anyway, it's probably a long shot, but if anyone has any ideas I'd love to know. Thanks.

It's some sort of weird concept album about an android or something. Pretty interesting.

This may be a little tough, but I'm looking for a song that sounds A LOT like the Smashing Pumpkins, or at least Billy Corgan. I don't remember a lot about it, but if it is the Pumpkins it is one of their harder songs. The only lyric that I remember is something something "tell you what I'd do", though I'm not even sure that's accurate. I've tried Google and I've looked through all of the Pumpkins singles but I can't find anything close to it. Thanks in advance!

I've never heard of producers doing that for either of the three CSIs...

It's an instrumental song, quite a thumping base, quite a few breaks in between the tune's beats, and the only words that were used in this tune were a very loud and eager 'gently caress me!' from some ecstatic woman. Quoting from a few pages back, anyone have an idea?

Can you place the mood of the song or be any more descriptive? There are sooooo many pumpkins rarities, and it can be really hard to find something with so vague a lyric. Also, have you tried corgan's other bands? Could it be Zwan or off his solo album

This is a rap song i believe. But it had a music video where the dudes just completely had sex with all these hot chicks. And when i say have sex i mean the video showed penis going into vagina. It was so well produced and over the top that i cant believe its so hard for me to find again. (It might also not have been french) edit: FIND ME PORN double edit: Of course don't post a link to the video, just the name of the song/artist.

The only thing I can remember about this song is the video. In the video some guys starting throwing money in a train station (I think) and all the people below started scrambling for it. It's been ages since I have seen it and I thought it was called "Tax Break" but that hasn't turned up any results.

I need help with identifying an artist since I am drawing a blank on the name. I saw a video a few months ago of a little tiny live show with Elliott Smith doing some duets with some chick. She was in a band of her own that I think had a name that might have been a type of bird or maybe something with "ruby" in it? She had a really soft, spidery voice just like his, and she was a little chubby. They sounded really great together and were doing all Elliott's songs. Who was it?

There's this song that I can't remember. I saw a video for it on mtv2 a few months ago. The band is a 2-piece (guitar/drums). I think they're from LA. The music is this trippy awesome noise punk. I think the video had all these blurry motion effects, a bunch of kids and a bonfire or something. Hope someone knows what the gently caress I'm talking about.

I heard a great song on a jukebox last night, and couldn't figure out what it was.. It sounded a lot like "Let's Twist Again" ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K5PqydMA1kA ) but was clearly more modern, a little distorted, and had some indistinct vocals. It sounded a little like something that the Exploding Hearts might do, but less extreme. I know this isn't much to go on, but does anyone have any idea what this might be?

Heard a spoken word song on NPR, from the 1960s. It was vaguely patriotic music, with a father addressing his son about how he understood why kids would protest the government, and that he supported his son's independence, etc. but that if the son gets called up for the draft he should feel obligated to go. It was interesting in that the father was really progressive on most issues mentioned in the piece, but insistent on the draft issue. Ring a bell?

Strange thing is the vocals are male, but in the original they're female, so I dunno whats going on. I've even talked to Felix himself and he has no idea Its a wicked remix of it though.

A friend of mine has been trying to find out what this song is. We know it's based on a song from the movie Purab aur Paschim (Pacchim?), but she swears it was that mix exactly, on a trip to Singapore. If anyone has the slightest clue, it'd be appreciated.
