http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wb2iB9QagD4 ~ 2Pac: Violent. The lyrics aren't the best, but the beat and bass are incredible. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8sQYiRFqQ9U ~ Orishas: A Lo Cubano. Cuban rap. Nice to listen to even if you can't understand the lyrics. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xrF4EhrZ0lk ~ Ghostface Killah: Shakey Dog. Great lyrics, great beat, great style. Odd video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fh0F41AvO_Q ~ Navigator by The Pogues. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vPcnGrie__M ~ Paganini's 24th Caprice played by Jascha Heifetz. Thrice - Lost Continent I have to listen to it at least twice, or should I say THRICE a day and it is beautiful. Really calm and emotional and it has quite nice lyrics so what's not to like. Anathema - Closer This is also quite a mellow song, atmosphere is nice and I like the vocoder. King Crimson - The Power to Believe II The mood is just perfect. It feels like you are tripping around the world and hear different kinds of music everywhere. Some nice guitarsounds too (I guess it's Warr guitars) but anyways really calm and chill out, good to listen before going to sleep.

VibrioCholera posted:I'd say anything by Elton John right now, but Levon and Rocketman are pretty high up there. Last television season, the pilot episode of Californication used it and it's stuck in my head ever since. I have a weird thing where no matter what Elton John song I listen to, I get Levon stuck in my head and have to listen to it as soon as possible. I have no idea why. To contribute, I've been playing 2 songs by the Dodos over and over again- "Red and Purple" and "Jodi"

Bittersweet Symphony - The Verve http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zx3m4e45bTo Hurt - Johnny Cash. I honestly think it's better than Trent Reznor's version. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SmVAWKfJ4Go&feature=related California Uber Alles - Dead Kennedys http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IrOCwk3U7H4&feature=related I recently saw an interview with Frankie Boyle where he complains about people telling him he looks like one of the Proclaimers. His reply: 'ONE of the Proclaimers? They're twins you ignorant twat!' In any case it got me started listening to their one hit ever again: (I'm Gonna Be) 500 Miles http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O3tNylJr7Z4

Neil Young - Cortez The Killer This is the only song I've been listening to for the past week or so. The Zuma version is my favorite, but I like the intro in the Weld version. The Live Rust version would be great if it didnt turn into a goofy reggae parody at the end

I just recently got around to listening to Whiskeytown and Uncle Tupelo, and so I've been listening to a lot of their songs lately. The one that right now stands out as irresistible is "Turn Around" off Whiskeytown's 1997 album Strangers Almanac. I just got the deluxe edition, which has both a live version and an alternate (read: shorter) version of the song, but the original has been on repeat for days. Plus, listening to all this "alt-country" music got me to dredge up pre-weird Wilco, and I remembered how much I love songs like "She's a Jar" and "Box Full of Letters," so those are back in regular rotation.
