van runs like a leopard but looks like a dead buffalo - $350

Craigslist ad posted:

1990 Plymouth Voyager V6 auto, 189k miles

Yea what you see is what you get... this is a real piece, it's been in the family since 1992. it was well taken care of until my brother and i got ahold of it.

the good:

-Runs strong, top half of engine was rebuilt around 100k?
-comfortable seats with no tears
-make a great cargo van
-stack of receipts
-no carpet

the bad:

-leaks oil like crazy, looks like it needs a new seal, other than this it runs great and i don't think it will ever break down. just don't want to take the time to fix it.
-its ugly.
-driverside door doesn't open, and window doesn't wind down, could be fixed but we never took the time.
-windshield wipers don't work
-needs an alignment, it eats tires for breakfast

we've taken it on quite a few road trips in the last couple years to Wisconsin, South Carolina, Tennessee, Georgia, and Hell.

it really is nothing to look at, driver's side was crashed into by some crazy people without insurance, driverside door was bent back on another car while driving in reverse, it has hit plenty of road barrels on the free way. the thing just won't die. it just keeps running and running kind of like the energizer bunny but more like a zombie bunny that got into a fight with a rabid dog.

email me with any questions and i will get back with you to show off the beast.

"it has hit plenty of road barrels on the free way."

You know, those big barrels full of water they put on offramps and road splits, so you hit them instead of going head on into a sharp triangle-shaped concrete wall.

They managed to hit them.

Sideways.

Several times.

Edit: the thing is, though? $350. If the actual frame is still intact, it's worth that.

Hell, it probably has enough recyclable steel in it that it's worth that just for scrap.

I was checking out what was on Ebay today when my eyes glanced on this piece of absolute awesomeness... a 1970 MB 280SE convertible. Mint condition. I shall make it my life's goal to someday own that type of car and have a friend drive me around town just so I can sit up on the back seats and wave to random people.

Almost $100k for a car that's a year older than I am might be a bit much, but drat that's a nice set of wheels.

What I mean is stuff like that, in imitation of another vehicle, seems to most often be done when the imitated vehicle is still on the market, and the person doing it cannot afford it.

Also a lot of those cars are subject to emissions regs in CA. So you'd still want to remove them from CA.

It's generally called a Pantera hatch, you could by them separate but IIRC they most commonly came with body kits. I haven't seen one in many years.

Would be a drat-near impossibility because there's so little room under the hood for an engine larger in any dimension than the Opel 1.9 :v:

Trust me, you're not the first to want to engine-swap a GT, but it rarely works well.

While this GT is certainly worth it, I'll be shocked if it sells north of $10k. The resale on a GT is hilariously low and there are so few in even "really good" condition, let alone absolutely spotless like this one, that the market has no idea how to price them.

See the valvecover? The GT was the only car with the Opel CIH to get that cover, because they had to lop off the front corner of it to make it clear the hood.

It is a really, really small engine bay.
