Heard a really cool song a long time ago that I'm just now remembering. It was on a college radio station, very indie, very home-recording-ish. It was mostly piano driven and it had a lot of different singers, male and female, singing in a half honky tonk, half pop sort of way, very charming and all. They're singing about someone having a party in the backyard or something like that. Backyard is the only word I remember. But here's what made it cool: at some point in the song, they play a two-note quarter note run that they've played every chorus, but this time they repeat it over and over and over... After a while it changes instruments, the same two notes in the same rhythm ad nauseum. It's a whole step difference between the notes. Anyway, they repeat it over and over, cycling through a bunch of different instruments, both melodic and percussive, and finally, after at least a minute or two, they pick up again with the song as if nothing had happened. Last clue: could be an Austin band, just a hunch.

Ok, I need help identifying these songs 1. The first five seconds of this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MLkj8IeOZyU and 2. The song at the end of the Denny's commercials: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w4jIpJSGL3c. This song also plays during the main menu of the Casino DVD and various other movies and TV shows. I was able to find a remixed version of it but I want to know who does the original. Edit I've got another one The song that starts at 4:09 in this vid: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NoMtf2kRAYw Thanks. deftcleft fucked around with this message at 11:01 on Nov 18, 2008 |

I once heard a techno/electronica version of Don't Put Your Daughter on the State, Mrs Worthington, a comedic song originally by Noel Coward. The electronica version was really slow and dark, but catchy. Anyone have a clue?

Does anyone know of a music video with a tall skinny chick in a yellow shirt and a skirt, like American Apparel flavor of clothing, posing and three guys on keyboards, each guy a different color (blue, pink, and yellow)? The music was like electro or indie I suppose.

Ok, a few weeks ago I went to see a show in Atlanta at the Tabernacle. While TVOTR was setting up, they were playing some sort of melodic/progressive music that sounded like a blend of Silversun Pickups, and Incubus. It was played very loudly, but I think I was able to make out a few lyrics from a few of the songs. I have been trying to find this band with no avail. "From the end to where we begin" "Comes from every direction" "There is no change thats. . . from major to minor" "I won't live without you. . . you can see what I am" Could be a band from Atlanta, since the venue usually plays local area music during the set up. sherndon fucked around with this message at 07:03 on Nov 20, 2008 |

Can anyone tell me the name of this song/artist? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jDIxxU2hTdY It sounds like some kind of remix from Final Fantasy IV, but it kicks all kinds of rear end and I'd like to find more from the artist. I've never really checked out Overclocked, but it could be from there.

Heard this song on FM 94.9 in San Diego, it was sort of prog or alt rock maybe and the only lyrics I could catch since I was driving were "21st century." Sounded like it was something that was relatively recent. The singer was sort of hard to understand, and I also remember the singer went into some crazy "oh oh oh ah ah ah my my my" thing.

There's a song on Wu-Tang Forever with this hook in it but I don't think they sound that much like Jadakiss and them. There's a Roc C track that Oh No produced that has a sample of a cover of this song as the hook, too.

This is a stretch but a long time ago I remember a youtube being linked of a hip hop music video. It started with one or two guys walking through a liquor store, with the beat on the radio, then once the beat kicks in and the song starts. I think it was from NYC and it had a white MC. Sorry if this post seems really stupid but that's all I remember. I remember seeing a video years and years ago, where the entire song was "sung" by a piece of chewed bubblegum as it makes it way through life (or maybe just a day.) I can't remember anything else about the song except that, and that one scene in the video was the "make out and pass the gum" thing, and I'm pretty sure another took place at a prom.

I know this is a looooooooooooong shot, but here goes nothing. Megadeth put out a greatest hits album called Megadeth - Greatest Hits: Back to the Start. On track 14, which on my CD is 9+ minutes long (metal-archives lists it as 4 minutes, go figure), there is a song that plays then it goes silent. At the 4:30 mark a cool complilation of random megadeth songs starts up. Random samplings. The song I want to know the name of is the sample played at 7:34. I think I have every megadeth album and I've never ever heard it (been looking for it since 2000!). Any clues?

It's been over a month since I last posted this link to this clip of a song I found on an Audioslave bootleg. http://iug.macscene.net/temp/Monstereo45.mp3 45 seconds, 1.0 megs. Let me go and get my last post quoted here for the info on it. quote:I got this from a (transcoded) Audioslave CD. It was a bootleg "Civilian Project" CD featuring their demos. While the demos were legit, some of the songs were just Temple Of The Dog songs. However, this one song cannot possibly be them. It doesn't sound like the music of Audioslave/RATM/Soundgarden/TOTD. And that's sure not Chris Cornell singing. Trying to search for the lyrics only brings up more people talking about trying to figure out who this song is done by, or this song labeled as an Audioslave song.

Okay, this is really vague, but it's worth a shot. I was listening the Current, FM 89.3 in Minneapolis, a few days ago, and I caught a song I had heard a few times but I never caught the name, and now a couple of the lyrics are stuck in my head. It just repeats: get over it get over it it's not your fault it's not your fault They sounded kind of like Cloud Cult. Anyone have any idea what I'm talking about?

Heard a song on the radio today (UK) that sounded kind of retro modern with a a big chunky hammond organ riff and catchy vocal hooks. It sounds like something I ought to recognise, but a quick trawl through the itunes store has yielded nothing. Definitely sounded like a current band. Help me nmd!

I know the name of the band, it's Forest For The Trees. I'm not sure which album it's off of, either the self-titled LP or The Sound Of Wet Paint EP. All I know is, it's got Beck singing something along the lines of "Packaging packages, pack 'em away" sampled over and over again. Tell me what this song is. Ok, nevermind, the song is called Fall.

I have a request that I've been trying to find for goddamn ever. There was a song back in probably 1998-1999 that was, if I remember correctly, a dude reading a record contract during the verses and the lyrics to the chorus were "You're so conceited, you're such a rock-star." I've searched Google, soulseek, itunes, loving everywhere I could think of, and I've never found a thing about this song. I think the band's name was Side or something like that.

I had part of a song pop into my head the other day, I heard the song first at a friends house on a tape her mother was playing. The only lyrics I can remember are from the chorus I think and are "blond haired big tittied bubble headed girl". Unfortunately every time I search I just get porn sites and blogs about Paris Hilton or Batman. Heard it mid nineties but I'm pretty sure the song is from the 60's, any help would be greatly appreciated.

I've been trying to find this song for like 6 years now. Let's see if anyone can recognize it. It's a 30 second sample I found. http://www.upload-mp3.com/pfiles/36735/Freq%20Nasty%20-%20Move%20Back.mp3 I know it's made by Freq Nasty, and that the song is called Move Back. However, when I search for it all I can find is a slower version of the song dubbed "Nu School mix". I like the one I linked better because of the baseline.
