Do you honestly believe that a Vanagon would move under its own power with 4,000 lbs in the bed? What would the tires do? I've seen Type 2 bus impacts at 20mph and it's not pretty. My friend survived a 40mph solely because his bus was too early for seatbelts and he was thrown clear. Ninjaedit depends on the impact what you hit bla bla bla bla bla

Psylocibe posted:That looks like a Vanagon to me. A lot of Chinese vehicles are based on old western designs and particularly VW ones, as VW has been present in China probably for the longest time of any car manufacturer. In fact the one car model you will see most in China (by at least a 3 to 1 margin) is something called the Volkswagen Santana, which is a China-only model. Virtually all taxicabs and non-truck, non-bus service vehicles (e.g. cop cars) are VW Santanas. Edit: and Santanas are based, as near as I can tell, on old Audi (a VW brand) designs.

Granted, the 2CV is pretty goddamned unsafe, but I'm pretty sure any one of the other cars would have crumpled pretty close to the same amount.
