Doesnt get more goon than this. I moved from my mothers basement to my grandfathers basement. I give this one 4 toasters out of 5. The table he provided is gigantic. But it doesnt reach the top score since i dont have ADSL yet and have to use a crappy 3g modem. Click here for the full 1280x960 image.

But my god does it have a history. i bought it a couple of years back for Uni studies. In the beginning it had a habit of powering on in my backpack and that caused some overheating problems. The heating problems gave the aspire some bumps in the plastic and it even melted in some places. It also caused some flickering red lines to appear on screen from time to time. Then the drat thing powered up in the backpack and got hit by some more overheating, but this time the overheating actually fixxed the red-line issues. It also had some trouble with the harddrive(my guess) since it would freeze a couple of seconds from time to time _Unless i lifted it up in the air and started to wave it around like an idiot_ but this problem also solved itself after a short while. Now everything is working as intended. Its like its HAUNTED Sorry for the wall of text. edit: more spooky aspire stuff: The DVD only work if i actually open the tray during boot and the cooling fan once went to a halt after it had formed a nice sphere of dust(The latter freaked me out since it didnt want to start afterwards and had to open it up to do some surgery). Because synergy is nice when it works, but it doesn't transmit special keys like the win key between mac and windows, it often lags terribly for apparently no reason at all and it's just a pain to deal with. Yes, it's neat, but it is absolutely not the end all be all of computing input.

I used my iMac to control a Vista HTPC and I remember using Winkey-R (either opt-R or cmd-R on my mac Keyboard) to start a lot of poo poo. I think you might need to do something in the config file but I'm like 99.9% sure it does transmit winkey. Edit: I fished this out of my synergy.conf but I long since stopped using it since I moved my HTPC to Linux so I forgot what it does: code:

There's one desktop with two monitors and one laptop is more or less stationary and is for communication (MSN, Skype, Outlook. etc.). The MacBook is my new portable, I got it to get to know OS a little bit better. All of this is clearly labeled in my picture. Besides, I love new toys. I didn't label my DiNovo Mini or my Acer Aspire One. I'll look into Synergy. Phillyt posted:All that expensive equipment and you use a chair for drummers or whatever. Synergy doesn't like wireless connections sometimes but a cheap 4 port (or 6 port if you have more than 4 computers) switch and some 10' cat 5/6 cables to make a closed LAN works wonders for it. (Or if you use just two computers a crossover cable like I use.)

My laptop is hardly ever even open on my desk, since two monitors on one computer is about a million times more practical and convenient. I do have a second computer that acts as a fileserver/torrentbox/web development test server, but it's headless and lives in my closet where nobody can see its shame.
