Soma sucks balls ever since they moved to Midway area and the owner is a little bitch (but that's another story). Che is awesome but pretty small. In Mira Mesa there's an all ages venue called Epicenter. And there is The Jumping Turtle in North County that's all ages as well but I've never been there. Another cool place in SD (not all ages) is Brick by Brick and also Dreamsteet for the bar music scene. They get a lot of metal and poo poo like that.

Don't go to LA that much but they got Chain Reaction. Just saw Disembodied there and I really liked it. Sound could have been a little better. In Pomona they got the Showcase, which is also all ages. Showcase is a really cool venue. Saw Unbroken/Undertow/Threadbare there a few weekends ago and was very impressed.

Just to clarify, Chain Reaction is in Anaheim and the Pomona venue is called Glasshouse.

How about I bend your body into funny balloon animal shapes?

Just saw Leftover Crack and the Casualties at the Ottobar in Baltimore, Md. Show was pretty good but staff was a bunch of pricks. Friend was thrown out for stage diving halfway through; literally tossed out on the pavement. Who the gently caress does this anymore?

That's right! The Showcase is in Corona. I like that venue a lot too.

The Casbah for one. When I saw the Asian Man Records Tour there a friend got tossed for stage diving. Pretty silly.

Staff at venues is usually pretty on edge at LoC shows, for understandable reasons.

Yea I can see why but at the Ottobar at least, it's been a more recent thing. Saw them last year and staff was pretty chill about stage diving. This year they toss out anyone who gets on stage and search everyone at the door for weapons, a bit too much for a show I say.

The great thing about the thousands of slaughtered Palestinian children is that they can't pull away when you fondle them or sniff their hair.

That's a Biden success story.
I just saw Crooked Ways and Reviver play, easily one of the better shows I've been to. Crooked Ways new songs are great. I wish Leftover Crack was coming to Portland.

For the most part yes, but I love the Satyricon. Although there is a lack of houses doing shows. Recently it seems like a lot of them have stopped doing shows.

Yeah, but how many decent shows are there at the Satyricon? Not many.

And the only house show i've been to in the past 2 years was at the Orphanage, and I played so that doesn't really count. :/

The Gifthorse from Brisbane, Australia just released their new EP yesterday. It's absolutely incredible. This is a band that have grown and matured so much over the last two years it's not even funny. Great people, and well deserving of the attention they're getting at the moment (well, in Australia anyway!).

Check out the cover of Don't Tear It Down by Spy vs. Spy. It's so loving good.

For fans of Samiam/Small Brown Bike/Jawbreaker/HWM etc.

Capn' jazz kind of, but they were more about the Midwestern indie sound than straight up emo.

Hardest working band in the UK, I think it was '06 where they did close to 200 shows in that one year, all whilst holding down part time jobs. I also think that was the year with the "incident" in Belgium.
