No Kisses, an Anglo/American cold-wave group based in London recently made their first e.p available here. It's cute, though they sound a lot different now.

Holy poo poo, thanks, I thought I wouldn't be into it as I was listening to Remember When. Then the instruments really kicked in and it really reminds me of my skateboarding days. Thanks very much.

I haven't seen it mentioned yet, but Intelligent Toys 5 has been released. If you're not aware of them, these are some excellent albums of cherry picked IDM (horrible term that it is...) from various artists. Head over to http://www.sutemos.net/ and scroll down the tracklisting to find the full album link (pretty hefty at 350MB+). Then while you're at it, search through the pages and get the other 4 compilations. You're looking at many hours of music here. This ones split into 3 CD's based on mood 'Sleep/Play/Think' and there's a music video and the usual artwork chucked in too. I have to admit I haven't listened to the full thing yet, but I have found so many tracks I love on the previous albums and what I've heard of this one so far is just as good that it simply needs to be posted. edit: I notice now it was actually released last year at some point, so apologies if I did miss it earlier in the thread. Still, can't be recommended often enough. Fwoderwick fucked around with this message at 22:48 on Apr 15, 2009 |

Messiah Corps first release on illphabetik is a full on blow your face away gabba explosion, complete with hip hop samples, amen breaks and distorted gritty insanity. He has released stuff on Lenny Dee's Industrial Strength Records, and you can hear why. Really tight productions produced with the dance floor constantly in mind. A packing release, nosebleed till you drop! http://illphabetik.com/releases.php?release=1385 http://foreignsound.dk/music/ill041/ill041.zip It's a new breakcore/gabba release. All original. It's the type of stuff that you either love or hate. The artists myspace can be found here: http://www.myspace.com/messiahcorps

Metermaids - Nightlife in Illinoise Up-and-coming rap duo remixes Sufjan Steven's Illinois in the same ilk as Danger Mouse's The Grey Album. One of my favorite downloads yet this year. Strongly recommended for Sufjan and rap fans alike.

I must've been high or suffering a momentary lapse in not-being-retarded and put this in the recommendation thread by mistake. lesson learned. Hollerado is a band from Montreal which, as far as I can tell, is a reincarnation of rocky/punky/horn accented/good band the Delegates. Their newest album Record In a Bag is up for free at http://www.hollerado.com in a .zip. I've given it a few listens through since I found it earlier this week, and it's totally worth the download. 1. Hollerado Land 2. Do the Doot Da Doot Doo 3. Juliette 4. Fake Drugs 5. Reno Chunk 6. Americanarama 7. On My Own 8. Got To Lose 9. Hard Love 10. Riverside 11. Walking on the Sea 12. What's Everybody Running For? (pt. 2) It's not the first time they've given a record up for free - when they were still The Delegates, they offered up their second album, The Diary of Hamilton Fish for free/by donation as well. I can't find that one around to link to anymore, as the old website is now defunct. There's a review of it at punknews at http://www.punknews.org/review/4733 though, and in my opinion is worth paying for if you find it.

Amish 82 just released an album with 5 original tracks (so it's more like an EP, but there are also 10 different remixes of some of the tracks), called Shovels and Cava. Don't think they are the most serious band in the world. http://www.sutemos.net/en/release;gid,26 Edit: Genre is house/electronica, or whatever the young whippersnappers call this kind of music these days.

Denovali Records is a label that is pretty cool and has a lot of full free albums on their site. Just click "denovali homepage" twice (no I don't know why you have to do that) and then free mp3 to see the list of bands they have up there. Stuff ranges from string instrumentals and post rock to hardcore type stuff. I personally recommend checking out Kidcrash (album jokes) and Blueneck.

Hey, here's two free albums from my band (Policy Overkill, which isn't really a band at all, it's really just me). Yup, like an hour and a half of free music with no stings attached. It's funky computer music borrowing inspiration from IDM, Glitch, Industrial, and Dance music. My apologies for the lovely website, I'm working on that. Plug Me In and Turn Me On Happy Havoc Industries (Overtime Mix) By the way: Plug Me In and Turn Me On plays real nice in Audiosurf. I'm sewage flavored.

As always, when the thread dies I post it here: John Crayon provided the gilmour-y solo on the final track. (01) { 3:08 } Pig Stole Our Golden Ring (02) { 7:13 } Covering Our Ears and Eyes, We Laugh (03) { 2:48 } Big Gulf's Out Yonder (04) { 3:06 } Preachers Preaching, Pebbles Dreaming, Teachers Teaching (05) { 4:02 } Peace (XX) {20:16 } Yo guys, I know I've been slacking on Dropsy. He'll come back soon enough. In the meantime I just finished another little EP. As always there are elements of my faith in these songs. It's something that's important to me, so I write about it. My last release I felt was probably too blunt for you guys (HERE), which is why there wasn't a thread on it. (Hehe, I made a promise about Dropsy there too.) If you haven't heard anything of mine before, it's best described as Avant-Pop with strands if prog rock woven in. I've been listening to a lot of Gong , Danielson , Brian Eno , Faust , Can , 16 Horsepower/Wovenhand and old Genesis lately. I'm sure some of it rubbed off somewhere. A lot of people seem to think it sounds like The Unicorns. I've never heard them, but if you like em' you'll probably dig it. Wow, thanks very much, much appreciated I unfortunately lost the project file in a hard disk corruption, so it never really got mastered or anything. I haven't made a lot more dnb, but here's my latest electro tune I've been working pretty hard on. Any criticism or ideas would be much appreciated, it's barely 3 mins long so advice on where I should take it for the rest of the tune without it getting too repetitive would be handy!
