What I did is a hell of a lot safer than the countless people that text while driving, talk on a phone while driving, have a dog in their lap while driving, eating while driving or putting make up on. Street racing in traffic is stupid. Doing a 3-4 second acceleration with open area, not so much.

Personally I dont see a huge deal doing a short run from 60. Not too terribly many cars will be ripping the tires loose and going sideways from that. If they were weaving in and out of traffic that would be one thing but I dont see anything horrid from that vid.

Driving is inherently unsafe, and justifying bad behavior with its safer than other less safe things is dumb. posting video of criminal or illegal acts is kinda dumb too. I dont really think that video clip qualifies as street racing, it was just a few seconds of acceleration, and not particularly dangerous or even interesting.

I seem to remember a thread about a certain Nova with a gigantic turbo that everyone in here seemed to love. Hell, people even complimented this guy's crazy Viper when he's posted it before. That said, it's the loving around on the street that's got people worked up. In this case, I'd agree that it's not the most dangerous of street racing, but it's still putting people at risk that haven't consented to it. I'm not going to flip out over the video like some people have, but at the same time I don't think posting videos of that sort of thing around here is the best of ideas (as you've no doubt noticed).

Just a heads up to anyone who street races when there's a track not that far from you. I just got done dealing with a street racing arrest in FL and even getting withholds on both charges with the racing charge dropped to a reckless and not having a infraction it will still end up costing me over $2000, 12 hours in jail, many more hours of my time. If you have to miss school/work you're talking a lot more than $2000, and WAY WAY WAY more if you're adjudicated guilty and your insurance finds out. Not to mention the minimum sentence for a racing charge, even on a withhold in FL, includes a 12 month suspension.
