My favorite thing about that episode is just how they're all having a good time until they find out its gay and THEN all of a sudden its horrible.

The writers did a pretty good job conveying that they were not down with the gay rodeo without making me loathe them. In the show, they seemed to find homosexuality tolerable but overall laughable...I think that a real group of four red-blooded Texans would have reacted in a very different way.

Yeah they don't see it as horrible, just a big joke. They just seem to be laughing at the ridiculousness of the whole situation.

Why would I have a problem with it? John Redcorn's gay, and I've been friends with him for years!

I'm really gonna gently caress this quote up but here we go.

Hank and Peggy are sitting in bed listening to their new neighbor (Big Willy Lane) have a crazy party. Hank says that as block captain he'll let Willy off with a warning on his first night.

Peggy objects and says something like "Well then can you rescind my fine from my boggle game last week?"

Hank's response is cut off but all I remember hearing was "Well the appeals process takes..."

Too great that Hank has a VERY bureaucratic block rules system.

Also Bobby kicking Joseph in the groin and yelling "Big Willy Lane!" is good too.

my favorite things from king of the hill are as follows:

3: footballisgreatsoccerisdumb.com.
2: hank setting the alarm for 7:00, going over to 7:01, sighing and having to go all the way back around.
1: hank's odometer turning over, hank missing it, saying "dang it," then being pulled over and saying "DANG it" even more exasperated.

i also love hank having to choose between answering the phone and refilling the ice cube tray and hank with his new friend sitting silently at the sports bar.

#2 is from one of my favorite episode sequences ever. (The transition from season 3 to 4 where Peggy has her skydiving accident). I believe that is definitely one of the quintesential King of the Hill storylines that has great character development of both Cotton and Peggy, and ends with the two dancing on his grave plot.

Dammit I'm pissed off.

I think today was the first day of 'rescheduling daytime' on the Comedy Network (Canadian Version of Comedy Central). For the past year they've had KotH every weekday at 4:30, and for a few years before that they had it at 5:30. Today I turned on the TV at 4:30... to NOT see it. I just checked the schedule and it's been removed.

"Cuffs and Collars, the tape I never rented. Sixty-eight minutes into the film, actress Dee Dee Cupp bends over to shoe her horse. Now, if you pause the tape and look closely, you can just make out a tattoo on Dee Dee's left buttock that says "I heart Charlie Sheen." Mrs. Cupp also makes an uncredited cameo in Jail Bait, a tape which marks veteran porn star Fernanda Valli's return to the adult film industry on the occasion of her eighteenth birthday. At the seventy minute mark, Dee Dee bends over to shoe a donkey. What do we see on her left buttock? Nothing! There is no tattoo! This can only mean that Jail Bait was made before Cuffs and Collars. Now, why is this important? Because Fernanda Valli turned eighteen on July fifth, two weeks after I supposedly rented Cuffs and Collars! Is it possible that I walked into Arlen Video on June twenty-third and rented a movie that didn't even exist? I think not!"

I was worried about this. Comedy has been running KOTH every single day like clockwork (with very few exception/interruptions. The early evening time and the late night time, 1:00am EST on the dot) for years and I've gotten quite accustomed to it. Either this is just a new season scheduling mixup (unlikely), or they may have finally dropped it, possibly due to the fact that teletoon has now picked some syndication rights up. That would be so very awful, because there's no way they'd be showing it 7 days a week. :sigh:

This speech is one of the more confusing things on the show. Who is turning 18? If it is Fernanda, how was she a veteran of porn at 17?

The other confusing part is in "The Father, the Son and J.C." Niefko is the guy's first name, not his last, but Hank says that the tradition is Christmas with the Niefkos.

The actress with the tattoo is turning 18, because it would have been illegal for her to star in a porno before her 18th birthday which was after hank had rented the video, it assumed the film hadn't been made yet and thus hank didn't rent it because it didn't exist on the day he supposedly rented it.

WILL AMOUNT TO NOTHING IN LIFE.

How can you guys miss such an obvious joke?

The Fernanda Valley returned to pornography on her 18th birthday. The joke is that she was making very illegal pornography before that birthday.

So Fernanda and Dee Dee made a tape, Jail Bait, which was released some time after July 5th.

Dee Dee made Cuffs and Collars some time AFTER Jail Bait, as evidenced by Dee Dee getting a tattoo between productions.

So could I have walked in to Arlen video on June 23rd and rented a video that was produced some time after July 5th?

I think not.

She is standing in front of a mirror.
"Happiness....Hap-penis...Hap--penis...penis, penis. I did it! Ovaries, Uvula, Uterus."
Then the scene switches to Hank and the gang drinking beer in the Alley. Then You can hear Peggy shouting
"VAAAAAGINA!!!!!" And Hank spits out his beer in shock.
