A5H posted:brand new is super lovely :/ Seriously, can we get back to pre-gaming for a Fest that happened almost a year ago? Maybe someone should start a modern rock thread for the Used, Brand New, and Fall of Troy discussion since they certainly aren't punk, hardcore, or emo. Case in point: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DACNNE0VsLM vs. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2gEMxYHkVAY

^ I was thinking about posting that quote but than I realized that Your Favorite Weapon isn't THAT terrible and that Deja Entendu is pretty good although it might just be that I listened to it a lot in 8th and 9th grade and thus have various nostalgic feeling tied to it...

As much as I love Comadre, I with bands would give it a rest and stop covering Refused. I don't even like listening to Refused anymore these days.

Jesse doesn't really hide the fact that he's obsessed with Morrissey. This is a little snippet of when they played Kimmel in 2003.

ChaosNonMusica posted:Should be. Raw, pure, no bullshit...what's not to love about these Swedish miscreants? They are great. I started with Discharge and other UK punk bands, and then made the transition to hardcore with From Ashes Rise. Still one of my favorite bands. I'd recommend them to anyone interested in the genre. I guess Black Flag and Minor Threat and Bad Brains are always a good starting point too. On another note, Dear Landlord is so loving awesome.

delusionsofgrandure posted:Who's heard any Rival Schools? I've just heard a little bit and like it and was wondering if anyone could recommend an album? They only have one full length, United by Fate. It's good, you should check it out. Apparently they're currently working on a second album. If you're into it, you might also want to check out Quicksand, Walter Schreifels' previous band. He wrote the first CIV album and most of the Gorilla Biscuits stuff too. I haven't heard his most recent band, Walking Concert, but there's that also.

Agreed, I'm loving this Converge track, I think they've returned to their good form as they were with Jane Doe, for me No Heroes was good, and same with You Fail Me, but not as good as Jane Doe...
