Yeah, I was gonna see HORSE again this December but I really hate Norma Jean, and I've seen HORSE 4 times so I guess I'll have to pass. ...even though Desperate Living is my favorite HtB album.

I used to love Norma Jean before they came out with anything after Kiss the Martyr. I went ape poo poo during them at Hellfest in NJ a few years back. Ah well.. As for WOP vs. Emmure, I'm pretty sure the dude from WOP will win. I remember seeing Emmure for the first time years back in a shithole, now they're fairly large and I'm really proud of their progress. A lot of my friends are close with the guys in that band, and even though their music is pretty bad, it's fun to see a semi-local act make it big time. P.S. Horse the Band sucks.

Nobody really gives a poo poo who you do and do not like, but to grill others on certain bands when you yourself listen to arguably poo poo music is pretty loving mental. Seriously are you like 14 or something?

We all listen to arguably poo poo music. Maybe I'm being too pushy in this thread, but if you ever have a real conversation with any group of people who listen to this genre I'm absolutely certain you'll get a bunch "that band sucks lol" comments made.

Not sure if this is where this goes, but I just got tickets to see Dillinger Escape Plan with Thursday at the Middle East in Cambridge, MA and I am loving pumped. I've never seen Dillinger before, but all anyone says is that they put on a really intense show. Anyone else catching this tour?

This will be my sixth time seeing Dillinger (fourth at the Ottobar) and I get more excited every time. They're by far my favorite live band and I can't wait to hear some new songs. I hope you enjoy it

I may have told this story before, but I was up front at a DEP show at Sonar and my hair was burned when Greg Pucciato breathed fire over the crowd. Yes, they are amazing live. Just don't get set on fire or kicked in the head.

Yep, truly things to watch out for. I'm pretty sure there's blistered paint on the Ottobar ceiling from the last time Greg was fire-breathing near the end of a show.

Traitorous Leopard posted:Psshaw, that solo's got nothing on AtB's solo at the end of Ometh Without a doubt my favourite After the Burial solo. Here's a local metalcore band from Toronto, they used to be called Charity's, but recently changed their name to Structures. They just posted a couple songs featuring their new style and I think it's pretty fun. I like the song In Pursuit Of the most, but the beginning of Encounter is super bouncy and worth listening to as well! https://www.myspace.com/wearestructures Also, has anyone ever listened to the band (in theory)? They've been broken up for about three years now, and a few of their members went on to play in Sky Eats Airplane. (in theory) played a blend of metalcore, deathcore, and power pop and they did it fantastically in my opinion. The Bonnie Situation is easily their best song, but their entire album The Final Project is just 25 minutes of pure rock 'n roll fun. https://www.myspace.com/intheory1 I think I remember seeing some posts about The Tony Danza Tapdance Extravaganza earlier in the thread, but I just thought I'd throw a heads up about a track from their upcoming album being put up on their myspace. I'm definitely looking forward to Danza III based on how this bad boy is sounding. http://www.myspace.com/tonydanzatapdanceextravaganza

Just missing it at February 2009, the solo at about a minute into the song Wet Warthog by The Heartland (broken up ) is definitely a candidate of 2009's Best Solo award. http://www.myspace.com/theheartland BONUS: In their blogs there's a fairly well-recorded live show, with a flawless rendition of the solo and the rest of their songs.

Garrdor posted:What do you guys think about Sink The Missouri? (Uh oh, shameless self promotion) This is interesting because you advertise that you need a drummer on the myspace, and I used to play drums for a sludge meets god speed you black emperor sort of thing. There were no vocals, but that's probably because we were only a band for about two months.

I somehow came into possession of their CD a couple years ago and loved it - Time as Ideology especially. Not really sure how to classify these guys, but I think they're just pretty awesome.
