"Nice shoe tree, Hank." "Yeah, it's almost Peggy's birthday and she was hinting at wanting something for the bedroom." I love rewatching episodes and finding gold you missed.

That's one of my favorite episodes, simply because Bill is legitimately happy and he's not being used by anyone or doing something that creeps out other people other than Hank (like that episode where he dresses as Santy Clause). I like to think that after the end of the series, Bill really did find some legit happiness.

Cotton being a pallbearer and just hanging onto the side of the casket is something I never remembered either but was funny to watch again. I want to pipe in and say if anyone saw the Goode Family episode that ran on Comedy Central last week, you saw the nightmare sequence Bliss had. It was originally much longer and cooler, especially the second half where Bliss is running toward the fire alarm with her legs melting into the floor. Sadly that stuff is always the first to get tossed into the bin. I've suggested to Michaelangelo, the board artist for that sequence, that he put the boards online. They're really well done!

It is that episode. David Kalaiki-Alii was given an F by Peggy so the boosters had Hank give David a work study at Strickland. David's essay "Strickland Propene doesn't have a vending machine. It stinks and I thank god everyday that I don't get exploded." caused Hank to sigh, take a shot of beer and give David an A.

Oh Japanese Hank. My favorite line from that episode is "Hey, where did all my Swanks go?". So, Cotton is a Colonel, but his uniform is clearly that of a private. But then it's always been implied that Cotton's war record is greatly inflated, if not complete crap. twistedmentat fucked around with this message at 05:39 on Jan 12, 2010 |

Cotton has plenty of medals and one looks like either a silver or bronze star(I forget). I think they back up all his crazy Japanese action, its just the one episode where he talks about being in Europe and Peggy disproves it.

So I never watched this show was on, but I did enjoy the few episodes I saw. My friends seem to love and know this show pretty well and have a ton of funny lines they use that make me laugh. We have similar tastes elsewhere so I am assuming I will love this show too. What are some good seasons to pick up? Normally I am fairly particular about skipping around a series, I'd rather just watch them in order from Season 1, but that doesn't seem possible seeing as there is 14 seasons and tracking them all down would be a PITA, not to mention I am sure there are clear cut "awesome" seasons, that you all can fill me in on. Thanks in advance.

If you can, start watching it on Adult Swim. They just started showing it from the beginning and it's to the point where it's a little less rough around the edges. I'd say anything from Season 2 on through the introduction of Lucky as a recurring character are golden. Yeah, I was just not a fan of the animation in the first half of the first season, and some characters just didn't have "personalities" yet, notably Bobby (who was just weird) and Boomhauer (who just talked fast). You can really see them turn around the Boggle Championship episode, and Jumpin' Crack Bass is one of, if not, the best episodes in the series. It sets the tone for Hank's character for the rest of the series.

Whenever I want to introduce someone to the show, I show them Three Coaches and a Bobby. Its just perfect. The characters are displayed well, the plot is fun, and its a great example of a famous guest star not being shoehorned in.

Dammit there have been two or three times where I've been watching an episode and thought "Cool, Alan Alda is this episode's casually used guest star" and then checked IMDB and found out Alan Alda has never been on KOTH

Last night my personal trainer was saying how he'd be a terrible yoga instructor, and I wanted to ask if he had a CD of him, making ocean noises. Actually. No. I take it back. Meryl Streep as Aunt Esme Dauterive is the best guest voice. I had *no* idea it was her until I was randomly looking up the episode one day. It's freaking Meryl Streep! In some random role!
