This is probably a stupid question...but does anyone still make old "Bigbeat" type music like old prodigy/chemical brothers?

That first EP of his is called Dark Energy. "Death on Four Wheels" is my favorite off of it. Though, I think "Sorcerer" is his best.

Yea, it is "Dark Energy", my bad. I like all of the tracks on it. It's somewhat rare for me to find an album that I can listen to all the way through, and I can do that with Dark Energy. I don't like the second track as much as the others, and my favorite track, not just on that album, but by him, is probably the fifth. I'm not really feeling the Space Fortress EP, but it's all right. Dooky Puss fucked around with this message at 08:31 on Jan 12, 2010 |

This Gucci mix is loving KILLER. What is the sample being used in Dope Boys? It sounds way too familiar.

There is (what I assume to be) the full track on another video on youtube, actually. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kcNoAvoaNEE I guess one of my complaints with it, is that it sounds a bit too much like the EAT remix of 88:88 (or at least parts of it). I still like it, though. I am curious as to what else shows up on the EP. Fors Yard fucked around with this message at 22:43 on Jan 12, 2010 |

So I've gone pretty gay for Crookers and The Bloody Beetroots lately: I love the fast pace and funky sounds, makes for some very good walking music when I'm out around town. Anybody know of anything else similar I might enjoy?

early crookers or the '09 lovely stuff? i'm guessing the latter since you like bloody beetroots. all the other kids like mstrkrft and steve aoki too. for some decent advice i suggest you check out fake blood and proxy.

I love Gucci and I love Mad Decent, and I knew I was going to love that mixtape, but it blew me out of the loving water. The Emynd remix of Frowny Face is probably my favorite track.

It seems like you kinda miss the point of these (loosly grouped) genre's. Also saying that Hip Hop style remixes dont belong in a thread about Electro is quite possibly the funniest thing ive read all day.

Is it really such a horrible sin to like house but not rap? At least not the style of rap that was in the Gucci mixtape. I don't know, at this point I'm afraid to express any kind of opinion in this thread, but I didn't really like the gucci tracks either. The music was good, but the rapping was a little too gangsta for my taste. EDIT: Yeah, I know poo poo about rap. Caseman fucked around with this message at 04:27 on Jan 14, 2010 |

Reminds me of Phillip Glass' great score for Candyman - early 90's horror thats pretty decent for a horror flick. The buildup up until about 1:10 isn't the best, but makes up for it around 1:22. Danger still has it. I have high hopes for Danger and Justice this year. I'm so sick of everybody oozing over the 99% crap that permeates the genre.

At this point in time pop, dance music, and hip hop are pretty much converging on each other. You don't have to like it (as phoneymcringring made clear his dissent) but the type of music prevalent here is going to be along these lines. I advise to post "hottest house joints u got" to balance out the discussion.

Anyone got some recommendations for poo poo similar to this track I love: Boreta - Bubblin in the Cut. Pulled this track from the Crush Mode Mixtape released by the Glitch Mob last year. I've gone through the tracklisting for the mixtape to try and check the other artists on there but none of it seems to hit the same spot as this track.
