Judging by the amount of rust on those rotors this car has been sitting for quite some time.

Still, for 4 grand it could be a good project, but I'm wary of that aftermarket sunroof.

Sorry, it was a rhetorical question. Always amazes me that people can destroy new cars in such a short time while I'm typically driving cars that are 20-30 years old and still going strong.

There's no way that car can be that light and still have a full interior, which, according to the pictures, it does.

Last I remember, E30's were more like 1300KG O_o would be even heavier with that engine (im guessing the transmission is a bit beefier than standard too), so more like 3000 lbs, I wonder what his basis is for that weight estimate, because the car is smaller than your average car?

That reminds me of my Eclipse GSX, young kid with hardly any money can't really afford to fix the car so he/she sells it for dirt cheap after it's been sitting around for a year. I'm sad. I sold it for $6500 in Jan of 2001 it was a 95, I didn't have any damage to the body though.

I think they're bitching about how people trying to advertise their cars as being light lie by saying their cars weigh 2000 lbs., hence the comparison to "FAHV HUNNERT HAWSPOWAH."

Everyone always overcarburates . That motor spinning 7000rpm at 100% volumetric effeciency wouldn't even require a 550cfm carb. Neat car though.

I find this quite interesting, because the E30 isn't exactly a large car. According to the title for my '89 Celebrity wagon, which is kind of a big car, it weighs 2888 lbs., and another source on the internet seems to agree, saying 2905. How does that happen?

While some weight comes from the actual frame size, material makes a much bigger difference. Also, the engine, transmission, drivetrain, axles, etc make up for a lot more of the weight, and then the dash and seats. If you pulled all these things out of most cars, you would probably be surprised at how easy it is to pick up one end of the frame.
