Cross-posting from the Oath thread. Try to convert this beat up "Rhino" I got from eBay into an Emperor's Children sex machine. It's my first time using green stuff for something other than filling in gaps.

ahaha I never noticed the tiny rats running inside. Also that's a kickass paintjob, especially that woodgrain.

Repost from the oath thread. Looking for comments and tips. Unfortunately the pics are too poo poo to see the subtle deneb stone + white edge highlight on the power armour. I honestly think they look even better than this in person. Tell me what you think guys. Just based, varnished and forgot how to photograph these plague marines. Enjoy sweet goons: Click here for the full 1472x566 image. Click here for the full 1421x838 image. Click here for the full 1530x630 image. And bonus post your workspace goodness: Click here for the full 1218x1614 image. I have a little desk and lamp there on the bottom left and office chair out of shot. Those cupboards hold all of my hobby crap and the doors almost even close. All those nice blurry pics were taken on my mobile phone, so yeah sorry.

Goddamn I love that stuff so much. Its a good thing that I can't justify buying any of it really. Maybe some day someone will agree to play Inquisitor with me and I can justify a bunch of 1/35 stuff.

I'd cut off the marine's foot and reposition it so it's angled downwards, it still looks a bit like he's standing on air. I'm back at home on the other side of the world, and I've unearthed a treasure trove of old Warhammer poo poo, including a set of unpainted Last Chancers and some hillarious and terrible Hero Quest chaos warrior conversions. I'll take some pictures later.

I know someone in the thread posted a great guide on how to paint that oxidized copper look on things, which works perfectly for Skaven metalwork, but I don't have a link to it anymore. Does anyone have either it or another good one?

Just a suggestion though, pull your camera out a little farther and you'll get a clearer pic on the mini itself; you can always crop out the parts that you don't want later. I think I'm gonna end up magnetizing the top of the land raider instead of gluing it down; shots like these will look cool with a fully painted and detailed interior:

That actually looks pretty bad-rear end. I wonder if I can wire up the interior of a land raider with lighting successfully. Did it to a monolith once. Doesn't work any more.

Man stop tempting me. I already talked myself out of drilling light holes along the floor and install LEDs for some mood lighting. Now if you can make the instrument panel glow green and such, that would be bad rear end.

Tempt you? gently caress man, I gotta avoid tempting myself with this poo poo. But, sadly, my addiction comes from the assembly and conversion of poo poo, so it'll get done sooner or later. As for the instrument panels, have a gander at this poo poo.

I'm planning on having Space Wolves Grey be the uniting colour of my Skaven horde, and I normally just wash it with Asurmen Blue. But I want to do real blending and fancy painting when I get to my Warlord, so what's a good three-step blend involving this colour? I think Shadow Grey would be the darker shade, but any thoughts would be appreciated. (I also have Ultramarine Blue and Ice Blue, if it's any help.)

50/50 Shadow Grey/Space Wolves Grey, Babdab Wash, Space Wolves Grey highlights is how my friend paints his Wolves and it looks pretty good.

bhsman posted:~*Sand-basing Krew*~ No can do, junior. I've got an itch, and the only thing that'll scratch it is risky painting! Actually, I painted the sand with a grey mix of that Daler Rowney acrylic ink. I was surprised at how the high flow of the stuff wicked straight into the sand and practically refused to go onto the model, even if I brushed up against it. That stuff has some really interesting properties. I'm tempted to, once I'm done painting these sisters, clearcoat them with this paint-on stuff I've got. It's a tiny bit shinier than dullcote, but drat if it ain't durable, and I think it might tone down a little with a blast of dullcote on top. I'm just worried about losing detail with so many sealant coats. On another topic, what's the best possible bit of advice you guys can give me regarding static grass? I've never used it.
