Ericadia posted:I find it strange that that isn't even in the Grand Junction listings. Does a low mileage Scout II really command that much premium? Seems absurd since I usually see them go for under $5000 32,000 original miles, unrestored, perfect with no rust and desirable options, yeah they can pull that much. I wouldn't want it but it's not unreasonably high. Being an 1980 that one likely has a Dana300 in place of the Dana20 transfer case, which is highly desirable and it's got the 345 v8, which is rare for a 1980 since IH was trying to shovel all their surplus Nissan diesels out the door before it slammed shut forever. Those Nissan diesels had no-place to go elsewhere in the organization, the 345 and 304 could still run dump trucks and school busses, just like it always had. The only thing that one's really got going against it is the front bench seat. High-back buckets with the center console are more popular.

Sometimes field cars hold up well, but a lot of times they don't. He does say it would be a good project car, and it is in better shape than some projects I have seen started.

My attitude towards people that think sound sytems are useless and retarded is - "To each their own." Car audio is a hobby/passion of mine, and i try to make sure that it doesnt inconvenience any one else.

True, but I can hope that anyone going to that effort would work the motor over at least a little, 300hp really is nothing out of a 327. And even if he didn't, you've got the world's best-supported engine already in there to start with. Edit: Alternatively it may already have FAHV HUNNERT HARSEPAWR.
