Doesn't that basically just make it a pair of inline 4s bolted back to back?

What is the reasoning behind that? How is it in any way better than a V8? [e] that link seems to indicate that basically all the advantages are in manufacturing and use of the engine on multiple platforms, and it's worse in most other ways. orange lime fucked around with this message at 09:05 on Mar 5, 2010 |

It's not so much an I8 as a 2x4, really.

At least once a year.

I'd just like to hear one rev (under load of course for you types). Half the fun of the different engines is how they sound when driven in anger. The only straight eights I've heard are usually in rather old luxury/touring cars, and they don't usually get the tits driven off them.

A 1978 car with only 7500km and the owner "loves driving it"? Something doesn't compute there. Maybe the owner thinks the first 100,000 miles on it are a "freebie" since the odometer turned over?

I remember he had a build page for it too. If I remember right he actually used it as his family van. There was a story of him taking it to a track and telling the officials he was running 12's in it. They were all obviously unimpressed and just told him when to stage. Well of course he busts out a 12 and a course official runs up afterwards to toss him a helmet.

It's pretty obviously a scam. Those pictures are recompressed multiple times from being ripped from the last time it was legitimately listed. Plus, any C5 in that condition is worth minimum 10k no matter how high the miles are or what stupid mods are done.
