Can we talk BBC Radio 1? Essential mixes and Annie Mac have helped me expand my house/electro library, and they are always mixed amazingly well. I found a ton of great tracks and DJs just through these two shows alone. I usually find myself listening to an EM or an Annie Mac show rather than a play list or a mix from somewhere else. My favourite EMs are Laidback Luke and Fakeblood, but I'm sure I'm missing a ton of amazing ones considering the show has been going for years. I show Laidback Luke EM to everyone who is even remotely interested in house. I love that mix to death. As for Annie Mac, the last two shows have been absolutely amazing, and for anyone that hasn't heard last Friday's show I suggest you do it before the end of the week! So that being said, can anyone recommend a good EM or a good Annie Mac episode? I was listening to Boyz Noise and MSTRKRFT the other day and while mixed amazingly well, they were slow and kinda boring. Maybe I just didn't get far enough into them? (about 30 min or so) Also for any trance heads, Armin's EM is nothing short of incredible. Firaga fucked around with this message at 03:15 on Mar 30, 2010 |

i'm not into trance but oakenfold's goa mix ('94) is pretty well regarded. justice's essential mix is badass, daft punk did a great one as well. jack beats just did one that i have heard is the hotness but i haven't had time to listen to it yet. edit: also FLYING LOTUS FLYING LOTUS FLYING LOTUS FLYING LOTUSFLYING LOTUS FLYING LOTUS mugsyRocko fucked around with this message at 03:20 on Mar 30, 2010 |

If you liked Fake Blood (my favorite EM ever), check out Jack Beats' mix from February. Also, Kissy Sell Out / Alex Metric was amazing earlier this month. Definitely check out the Eric Prydz set from New Years Eve, and the Simian Mobile Disco one from January. If you didn't already know, all the EM's are at Mixriot

Weaponized Cum posted:Apparently the city of Miami did not let the organizers keep going. That's pretty much it. The city requires the festival to shut down at a certain time or they face some pretty hefty fines. Depressing I know, but I've heard from a few friends who work with the festival that there will be a third day next year. I haven't done too much digging to back that up officially, but it's being talked about down here like it's common knowledge. Edit: Apparantly they mentioned something toward the end of Deadmau5's set, but I left 10min before the set ended due to a friend getting sick Dono fucked around with this message at 04:02 on Mar 30, 2010 |

Dated, but I still love the Crookers and Digitalism mixes from a few years ago. And seconding the recommendations on the Jack Beats and Kissy Sell Out ones from last month. New (old) music: Kissy played this old Herve remix on his show last week and it's been heavy in my rotation since. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wJQqREN8OuU

I know this might sound crazy, but my personal favorite is the Diplo EM. He goes through so many songs so quickly. Even my most favorite DJs can lose my interest after a good long time - even Justice (my most favorite group, ever) loses my interest in their essential mix. Diplo holds my interest the whole time. He is insano. Note: my personal favorite mix ever, though, is the Justice Xmas Mix (aka Fabric live 37: http://redthreat.wordpress.com/2008/01/14/justices-xmas-mix/ - Fabric was like "lol brah, peepz aren't rdy 4 dis" and so Justice released it for free, I've never listened to a mix that many times).
