SkunkDuster posted:I see. That kicks rear end! NMM tends to look best on single models or pre-posed groups (ie, dioramas) viewed from a particular angle. Photographs of it often look better than it does in person, especially if you actually put a bunch on the table and start moving them around together. As was said, its an art technique, and it works fine where you can effectively predict or control the viewing angle or setting. Most of this applies to that CHROOOOOOME NMM stuff done above, a lot of people do a more subtle and non-reflective version using greys and whites that has less issues with directionality and poo poo. I think I posted a bunch of nice NMM stuff at some point, but I am too lazy to find it!

I plan on picking up a pair of them at some point in the not too distant future but right now I'm focusing on mr OOP

Heavily corroded bronze will be easier to do as marble is hard to pull off. But I agree the thing needs to be way overgrown with ivy and moss. edit:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i6OSyAT7-Ys&feature=channel Indolent Bastard fucked around with this message at 21:10 on Jun 10, 2010 |

As I sit here and assemble a couple defilers, I find myself wondering how awesome a Chaos Mechanicus army would be, made out of a shitload of defiler parts, bloodletters, fantasy bitz, etc. Chaos skittari...

Also, just airbrushing this statue bright gold then washing the poo poo out of it with verdigris sounds too easy. Also I suck dick at sculpting, I wouldn't even be able to make vines unless I bought some.
