When this originally aired, I was in middle/high school, and I hated it. Partly because my mom loved it and was always quoting it to annoy us, and partly because I hate humor that involves disappointments/misunderstandings. I hated how you just knew, whatever good thing was coming George's way during the episode, it would end with him thwarted and disappointed. But now...now I'm staying with my mom while she goes through chemotherapy, and we've been watching this show together as it airs three times a night and, uhh, I kind of love it. I still don't like disappointment humor, but I love how an episode usually ends with major negative fallout imminent...and then the credits roll. Like, just when it looks like one of them is about to be accused of murder...freeze frame and slap bass. Ahhh, I'm spared the full-body cringe of having to sit through that. Relayer posted:I just laughed for like three straight minutes at Elaine's "Lookit... it's not Suse, alright? It's Susie.. my name- is SU-SIE". Her angry\manic outbursts are always so good. The whole concept of that episode is one of the best examples of the late season surreal humor. Elaine's outbursts of rage are my very favorite thing in the show. Like in this clip, screaming at the yappy dog next door, or in the episode when she gets bitten by another dog and thinks she has rabies and screams in George's face. Or when she's trapped on the subway. Elaine But she/Julia Louis-Dreyfus really attracts the mouthbreathers of YouTube -- Why.

My favorite Elaine quote ever is when she rips off George's toupee and runs to the window. I DON'T LIKE THIS THING AND HERE'S WHAT I'M DOING WITH IT *throws toupee out window* the way she delivers that line is priceless, and i laugh so hard

When the guy with the broken thumbs runs into the funeral and screams out "SHE WAS MURDERED.... BY JERRY SEINFELD!" and Jerry just turns to the woman he's been bugging all funeral and says "Not only that, I broke his thumbs!" with a poo poo-eating grin on his face.

As I was eating my doughnut this morning, with a knife and fork, natch, I was reminded of Elaine's outburst at New York City having gone mad and using knife and forks for their doughnuts and candy bars. "Are you insane?! WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE!?"

There's this total accidental moment where Jerry turns around and shakes Kramer, Kramer's water flies out of his hands into the air then lands in Jerry's mouth and he winds up spitting it all over Kramer as he yells at him. You can then totally see Jerry freaking out about how awesome it was and trying his rear end off not to break character and ruin the take. He almost succeeds. Thankfully, they kept it in anyway. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Kceo8gMnOI#t=4m40s

Something I've noticed in my current rewatch is how close they are to breaking character in the last second of a take, it seems like it happens 3-4 times per episode.

One of my favorite George moments is in The Cafe (the one about George cheating on an IQ test) and Elaine hands him back the test with food and coffee spilled on it. George freaks out and asks "how am I going to explain this?!!" And you watch as he gains composure, his GF walks in, he hands it to her and completely pulls off the most ridiculous explanation ever.

This is one of my favorite things about the show. I've noticed this with the way they cut a lot of scenes in Christopher Guest's mockumentaries. Something insanely funny is said and it just cuts right away to something else because I can't imagine anyone keeping a straight face. And the greatest of all George moments is when he sums up his life to that board so he can get the apartment.

The best Elaine moment is the slight pause when George lists all the wonderful features of the computer he's trying to sell 'No, George!' 'There's porn.' '...Even so.'

Best George moment by far, for me, was him telling his true tales to the apartment committee and blowing the Andrea Doria survivor away. Also features Jerry as a mailman. "Mail.. on Sunday?" "WHOOPS!"

There are so many opportunities in life to just casually say "that's a shame" as a response to any tragedy, big or small. Also it's best to be eating something while saying it.
