The new Ion Dissonance album scares me. I'm not sure why it just seems so absurdly angry, even moreso than Solace. Ohwell, I still love it.

I must have missed something somewhere, but why are people referring to albums as "tapes" now?

Also, the riff around 1:50 on "Time and Place for Everything" on Danza III is the heaviest thing they've ever written.

Oh man! Wretched's new album 'Beyond The Gate' comes out August 3rd and I can't wait for that poo poo to drop. Their debut came out last year and it was one of my favs of 2009 and this is shaping up to be better in every way.

Wretched is loving awesome. Exodus of Autonomy is one of my favorite albums in a long time.

Loving the power-metal looking album cover. This song is just okay to me though. I LOVE this other new one

Digging As I Lay Dying's new powerless rise album. Even though I just saw them live and had not heard it at the time. I was the one douchebag who didn't say anything when they were like, "SO WHO'S HEARD OUR NEW poo poo?!" Anyway, great show. Go see them.

Sorry if I missed it, but has anyone listened to Norma Jean's Meridional?

Yeah, I know, it's either "Botch rip-off stay away" or "If it's not Bless the Martyr v2 I don't care", but I'm actually digging it. It's got Bless the Martyr song structure mixed with the vocal style of Birth of the Anti-Mother (I must be the only person that doesn't hate it) and it works pretty well (IMO). Anyone else?

gently caress yesss I LOVE Wretched. Exodus of Autonomy is my favorite record in the last few years.

Also, my own band is working on our debut full length; I've gotten good response elsewhere so maybe the whatevercore thread will appreciate it. I've heard people give comparisons to Beneath the Massacre, The Faceless, and the Red Chord, so if that's up your alley you might dig us.

Oh my god. Just got back from Warped Tour. I have never heard of Suicide Silence until then, but drat was that poo poo crazy. First time I've seen a wall of death, actually. Whitechapel was right around the same level of gnarly. Just thought I would share. Ultra brutal metal that makes people worship Satan.

quote:

Killswitch Engage guitarist Adam Dutkiewicz and former Killswitch Engage vocalist Jesse Leach are re-teaming for Times of Grace, a brand new band that finds the duo taking a creative left turn, boldly exploring new musical terrain, while fearlessly digging deep into the recesses of their musical synergy. It has yielded a provocative, heavy-yet-melodic result, one that helped each of them overcome personal struggles and emerge from the darkness, more empowered than ever.

While fans will no doubt be thrilled at the concept of the duo reuniting, Times of Grace is not interested in fashioning "Alive Or Just Breathing Part II". It's an entirely new project and represents a different musical path for both Adam D. and Leach! It is an album of cleansing and catharsis for each of them, where internal demons were exorcised and set to music that's as aggressive as it is melodic. The pair is currently in the studio working on its debut, "The Hymn Of A Broken Man", which is due out November 9 through Roadrunner Records.

Are you kidding me? This is going to be EPIC.

Also, the new All That Remains song sounded awesome when I heard it on Sirius. It sounds like their old stuff for sure, but I'm positive they'll have radio friendly songs too. They're releasing it tomorrow for the masses on their website.

Holy poo poo I just got a chance to listen to this album today. I only liked one or two songs off Minus the Herd and was kind of sad that they decided to drift into a less 'manic' direction. This album however is loving insanity, I didn't think you could make something more pissed off-sounding than Solace.
