I'm not always happy with the end-results, but I go out of my way to try them because all of their high-end mice have interesting features or implementation of features. I got a MX Revolution for $35 bucks a year or so ago at Best Buy and its the best thing ever. And they make fabulous racing wheels. I wouldn't buy a $100 mouse at retail price though.

What's a good mouse that connects via bluetooth without a dongle? My laptop only has two USB ports and even though I never use them, I'd rather not have a dongle permanently connected if I can just use native bluetooth. It doesn't have to be a $100 gaming mouse or anything.

I know this has been covered to death, but I'll still come in late and say that I would never pay this much for a mouse, UNLESS you have special needs and it's some crazy CAD mouse or some such device. (or you want a real fancy Kingston trackball) Maybe, I'm just crazy or OCD, but I still use a Logitech Wingman gaming mouse. It's pretty much the last of the real 3-button mice, and I don't care for scroll wheels, and HATE the lag of wireless mice so I keep this guy around. I've since replaced all the microswitches (because the left one went bad, anyway) so that it now has soft-clicking on all buttons instead of the original microswitches which were loud! This was very helpful back when I was gaming or downloading porn and hentai in the wee hours of the morning and didn't want anyone to know.  I've never been out-gamed by someone because they had a high-resolution mouse. Just get a normal mouse.

I bought a 70 dollar mouse a logitech G5 a couple of years ago. Was the best mouse I ever had until it started randomly connecting and disconnecting.

I just dropped £80 on the Logitech Cordless Desktop Wave PRO set, so i guess i only paid about $50 for a mouse. My justification is that if my current Logitech set lasted 6 years, then that set of a superior keyboard and mouse will last at least another 6 years if not more.

I'm seriously thinking about getting the Razer Imperator, but I've never had a gaming mouse before, which is something I actually need at this point. http://store.razerzone.com/store/razerusa/en_US/pd/productID.171793100/categoryId.35208800 I've read a couple reviews about it, all seem very positive but what are your opinions? Oh and it's not actually 80$, looked at the first place I googled and it was 60$ or so.

Well my new wave pro set came today. I was a bit dubious after I bought it as to whether there would be a noticable difference from my MX700 set but holy hell was I wrong. The MX1100 blows it out of the water. It's a lot more comfortable, has controls out the gazoo (i can tilt the mousewheel left and right and it acts like i'm pressing the arrow keys) and the mousewheel has this hyper scrolling thing. It turn it and it's frictionless, woo! On top of that almost no more cables. My last set had to have a docking station that acted as a reciever for the set and that involved multiple constantly connected cables. Not any more! One cable, plugged directly into the mouse means it can be charged via usb or plug socket with the USB->mains adapter and the reciever is just a usb dongle (which also means i can use it on my laptop  ).The keyboard is pretty spiffy too. It's going to take a little bit of time to get used to the wave design of the keyboard, but it's pretty damned comfortable to use. About the only thing i can find fault with the set is that the keyboard doesn't have a recharge feature like the mouse does and i'm baffled as to why. There must be some kind of technical reason but i can't think of one.

Well after forswearing gaming mice I'm getting fed up with quick spins turning into staring at my feet. All I care about are good tracking at high speeds, comfort, and price; I don't need a dozen reprogrammable macro buttons and I hate visible lights. I'd be perfectly happy with my Logitech M500 except for the skipping. I wish it were a little smaller but it's no biggie. I've found the G9 for $49 but despite the thread title, I'm looking for something cheaper. The Sidewinder X5 is down to about $30 on amazon but I am given to understand it is for people with large hands, i.e. not for me. The G9 coupon expires tonight and I'm not yet convinced it's worth $50. Can anyone recommend it (or something cheaper!) for a small-handed person who really likes to play games? Am I worrying too much about the Sidewinder's size? edit: I'm thinking that the G9 is a great deal, but I don't really know what advantages it has over other $50 gaming mice, like some of the DeathAdder variants. kaschei fucked around with this message at 19:16 on Aug 26, 2010 |

I got my G700 today. It's taking some getting used to, coming from the G9, but I do like it. It's a pretty chunky mouse, but its still comfortable to finger/claw grip it. I love the click that the wheel has. It feels a little more sturdy when it's in line by line click mode. The free spin is as free as ever. I'm going to have to figure out what to do with all of the buttons when I get it home.

However I'm not too impressed with the Desktop Wave Pro. 90% of the time it's perfect, exactly what I want. The other 10% of the time the connection between mouse/keyboard and receiver has dropped out. Looks like it's time to get on the phone with Logitech support.

Nope. It's most obvious when I'm playing a game, but I do notice it happening during regular use, especially since the keyboard drops out sometimes as well. How far do you have your receiver from the mouse and keyboard? Mine's about half a metre away.

My desktop is at my feet and the reciever is plugged into the back of it. I've not played any games with it, so i've not used it for a sustained period of time yet i should hopfully spot something this afternoon. Gonna install war for cybertron which i'm presuming is a rather mouse intensive game. edit: I woulda posted this earlier but the forums have been down all day, but yeah, i did notice some signal drops, they were somewhat intermittant and i couldn't figure out a cause, but there were definite times when the keyboard and/or mouse would stop giving input for a couple of seconds.
