I wonder if deals ever come out of car trade ads like that one, or worse, the ones that list nothing BUT trade suggestions without an asking price. I mean, I've never known anyone who traded a car for another car, and the sellers are really limiting their audience. I'd much rather trade my car for money, then trade someone else money for their car.

My brother does the trade thing but he does it without looking for anything in particular. He has owned everything from an Explorer with 38" tires to a late model Jaguar all by trading even up or trade plus less than $500 cash. He has had at least 20 cars in the last two years.

No, he isn't that ambitious by a long shot. He just sees stuff that people are willing to trade and calls them up if he's interested. The worse they can say is no so it's no big deal. He has a reliable driver and a company vehicle so it's not like he's taking a big chance. A guy that works for me does something similar but he will put out cash if he sees something he can flip.

I'm thinking about buying this as a winter beater to save my miata from the midwest's salty roads as its rust free. Good idea or no? I can do most maintenance myself and other random things on cars like replacing drivetrain and suspension bits if needed.

They are really easy to work on for the most part. They are so much fun to drive. Make sure you get a locking gas cap though.

"Ha," I laughed to myself. "Some guy listed his '99 4runner with 157k miles at almost twice the book value." Then I saw the clincher: "Needs Air Bags." Click here for the full 1118x770 image. Gotta admit, I'd drive this. Not for anywhere near $1700 though. quote:This is a real nice 1977 AMC Gremlin....it does not run as it needs the water pump, fan and radiator replaced....it has a Ford 360 and auto tranny....was a manual tranny car...not sure of the original engine....comes with an extra set of seats as the original front and rear are in bad shape as well as the door panels. The original seats are a red vinyl and red plaid...the new seats and door panels are a light tan.Car also comes with a brand new set of custom made leaf springs to give it a steeper rake....has 14 inch chrome crager style rims....there is less than normal rust and parts are surprisingly easy to find.$1700 or best offer....if interested please call 403-524-4278 and PLEASE leave a message...we'll call you back.
