I'm sorry if this isn't the right thread to ask this type of question, but I was thinking of heading up to Chicago for Deadmau5. I want to check out both nights, but will it just be the same set for the most part for both of them? I can deal with a couple repeats but if so I'll probably just go Saturday to see Booka Shade.

To actually answer your question (and not just mock you for liking deadmau5), yeah both nights will probably sound the same. I'd definitely recommend seeing Booka Shade, they put on a fantastic live show.

Yeah it was such a bummer. The show was absolutely nuts though but i went for a smoke break at the 45:00 mark and when i got back in everyone was coming out, i couldn't believe that it was already over. I read that some people from other shows were also complaining about it, i saw someone saying that their show only lasted 45 minutes.

Were you at the show in NYC? Felt pretty much the same way. I've always wanted to see them, and while the Death Crew aspect is cool, they only played for an hour and I definitely feel I would have enjoyed it a lot more if it was just a DJ set. Also, the crowd around me sucked, big let down. Not really the band's fault on that one though...

Haha they came here over the weekend (Toronto right? :P), it was an all ages event so I skipped out. I can't even imagine what that was like with all the candy kids.

Some of our promoters here are really strange. AvH was here and nobody said a goddamn word. And they booked Booka Shade on a Thursday to play at a club that has a weekly Friday event that always fills up? Oh and lets not forget Riva Starr at a top 40 club filled with people that didn't know what the gently caress and a bunch of older dudes in business suits.

Oh well Avicii and Boy 8 Bit on Halloween. I'm missing Steve Lawler and Carl Cox but my buddies are really aching to see Boy 8 Bit.

A lot of fun, from what I remember. He played a sunrise set at skybar over the summer. Comparable to Steve Angello in terms of song selection, but, again, my memory is pretty hazy. TIL would be a great place to bring friends from out of town, though, and it's going to be bumpin for Avicii for sure. You can bet on a lot of attractive women being there.

I completely agree. Can't wait for the EP (so are we talking like a 5 song EP?) to drop. I never understand how artists are afraid to take time to craft their sound in fear that their audience will forget about them. This isn't rap music where a new artist comes around every 6 months (im talking about coming up with original music) to take the spotlight.
