Listening to it now, liking it a lot. I'd like Justice to come out with another album as soon as possible, but I don't see how they can top Cross.

That rubber track is killing me. Reminds me of changing the audio settings in Half Life 1 and listening to the audio repeat itself for six minutes while the game sorted itself out.

God I hope somebody in this thread knows what I'm talking about. I feel like such a nerd.

I couldn't find the trip-hop thread but this duo is electronica/trip-hop anyway, I was wondering if anyone likes Supreme Beings of Leisure? I just heard them on an episode of Veronica Mars and they are absolutely awesome.

I know the album came out last year, and even though I don't speak a drop of swedish, Boys II Men is probably my favorite electro-hip-hop record.

"Alla Som Inte Dansar" is an amazing song, and if you translate the lyrics its even better, since the chorus translates to "Everyone who isn't dancing is a rapist"

Thanks for the heads up. :)

Got free tickets for writing for the paper to see "We have band" who are nothing new but decent electro-pop in a hot chip vein, pretty unremarkable really but its a free night out so they could be better live?

Also might get free tickets to simian on fri if i can make it, want to check out their all techno set. That could go either way though.

Okay guys, I'm pretty new to Electro House but my friend from Germany is gradually getting me into them. I'm not sure what the dos and don'ts are yet, so pardon me if I like some DJs that are particularly laughable.

So being a fan of Trance and the like, I had found Deadmau5 quite a while ago. I'm not so familiar with his older tracks pre-For Lack of a Better Name, but I'm a fan of most what I hear from him. I could see him being classified as "too mainstream" though.

I'm also a pretty big fan of Steve Aoki's work. I play songs from his mix album quite often, and like his song Brrrat with Armand Van Helden.

Right now I've been listening to a lot of The Bloody Beetroots' songs. They have a few different remixes I like (the remix of New Noise in particular) and Warp is easily one of my favorite EDM songs ever.

I'm also starting to get into MSTRKRFT, Boys Noize, and Afrojack (might be a little too mainstream too). If you guys could provide any suggestions, that would be awesome. I know very little Justice, but i do love MSTRKRFT's remix of D.A.N.C.E. and the original for what it is worth.

Find a DJ you like and grab his mixes/podcasts. If you like trance and electro try Gareth Emery's podcast, it's typically really good.

You pretty much listen to what I do, I'm not too good on this suggestion thing, but I'm a fan of Dirty Disco Youth, Proxy, and Digitalism

As you have probably read before, electro house is a pretty varied genre and half the fun is discovering what's your specific taste!

I am interested in getting into electronic music. I know about Ishkur's guide to electronic music but I am still not sure what I should try to listen to. I think though that generally I would like to listen to music that is more melodic. What electronic music should I try out that has a more melodic flow to it, as opposed to just constant looped bass and beats that don't have much of a melody to them?

I tend to prefer the more melody- and harmony-driven electronic music (well, more melodic music in general), so maybe I can help. There's a lot of it, believe it or not. So much, in fact, that you're going to have to be a lot more specific. Are you looking for dance music or chill-out music or just pop tunes with electronic instrumentation? New or old? Cheerful or dark? What have you heard so far that you like?

A good source for new melodic electronic dance music of various sorts is Annie Mac's radio show on BBC Radio One:

All the track lists for her shows are on that page. Check out some of the other shows they have on Friday nights as well, like Pete Tong.
