Snatcher Mafia will be a 15-person Mini-Mafia based on the Kojima classic Snatcher. With five days until the Kyoto Summit that will decide the fate of Neo Kobe City, the J.U.N.K.E.R. team is tasked with the desperate objective of rooting out the "Snatcher" threat: powerful bioroids that attack and replace humans. Time is running out, and JUNKER's runners are the last hope for Neo Kobe City. I've wanted to run a Mafia game for a while now, and recently was inspired after replaying this great game from my childhood. With Kojima style self-referencing, fourth wall breaking, and plot twists, I hope it'll make a good impression. Looking to run this within the next week or two, want to see if there's any interest for it, whether as playing or helping me co-mod the game.

@TPS: You should probably start a game thread and move most of that information there to avoid walling in the announcement thread. Teasers are cool, but mechanics and whatnot should really be in your game thread.

A Gay Romp in Guernica has ended in a town sweep. Hooray to the victors. The conclusion to this Spanish interlude is here: La Calavera de Naffaroa. 15 players, newer players are welcomed and encouraged to join! If you are a so-called "vet," please don't join unless you genuinely have the time and motivation to play. I want to make this the first game for which I don't need to prod lurkers or replace people! Make me proud!!

Adrift Mafia It seemed like a great plan: grab some friends and cruise around the world in a luxury yacht for a year after graduation. But just off Aden pirates struck, leaving you adrift in the ship’s tender with no gas or radio as they sailed off in your boat. What’s worse someone seems to be trying to settle some scores far from the watchful eyes of the law... This is a mafia game for 13 players. There are no traditional power roles. Instead, the scum team is not allowed to communicate out of the thread (though they will know who their teammates are). In order to perform a night kill, each night all three scum must each submit a name for who they want killed. If all the names don’t match there will be no kill. Reservations are now being accepted. The game will start shortly after Thanksgiving.

Someone's trying to set us up. Last night, Peter Perfect, playboy extraordinaire and son of the mayor of Toontown, was found with an anvil on his head down in the skids. Proclaimed dead on arrival, the whole drat department has issued a dragnet. For the longest time, we had an understanding, but now if we don't deliver the head of the bastard who did this on a silver platter to Chief Smith, the whole house of cards is gonna get knocked down. Everyone's in attendance. You've got Flintstone and his union men, the Anthill Mob from the east side. Hong Kong Phooey, number one super guy and hitman. Top Cat and his back alley rats. Even the goddamn Scooby Gang. Every one of us had a reason. A motive. The means. Opportunity. Each one of us is the worst of the worst, the most zany, low-down hucksters this side of the Rio Grande. Toontown might be colorful by day, but we're the endless shades of black and gray that come out at night. Someone's trying to set us up, and we're not going to just sit around and let it happen. Toon Noir is a 15-person Mini-Mafia based on the catalogue of Hanna-Barbera cartoons of our childhood. A story of revenge, criminal masterminds, and picnic baskets. Will be opening likely in early December after the initial holiday rush of THanksgiving, or possibly January if not enough are interested or there's a saturation of games still. Taking reservations for spots, PM me if interested.

Covert Operations Mafia The year is 20XX. You work at MacGuffin Industries, one of the leading defense contractors in the United States. You have all recently finished the beta model of your finest work yet: Project Pinocchio, nanomachines that can infiltrate the enemies’ nervous system and control their body. It’s an amazing piece of technology, and the Pentagon is eager to see it working for them. But they aren’t the only ones who want it. Five minutes ago, the main generator for your building went down, and the team’s leading scientist was sniped. The building went into lockdown mode, sealing all of you inside. It won’t open again until the infiltrators have been caught. Using your scant resources and your own wits, you must find the infiltrators, whomever they may be working for. Covert Operations Mafia is a 15-player setup open for players of all experience levels. The planned start date is Friday, December 3, but that may be pushed back depending on how long it takes the game to fill. If you're interested in reserving a spot, please e-mail me at khabuem at yahoo dot com. Spots will be filled on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Man... lots of minis announced all at once! Well, here's mine. Maximum Security Mafia Pelican Bay State Prison: an overcrowded hellhole, called home by 3,461 of California's most dangerous criminals - 3,462, if you count yourself. That number's about to drop, though, one way or another. Along with a handful of your fellow convicts in General Population Block B, you've hatched a plan to escape. It's no easy task, of course, but the plan is solid. There's only one problem; it's come to your attention that there are rats in your midst. Cowards, willing to trade the promise of immediate freedom for a shot at a reduced sentence for betraying their brothers behind bars. One by one, the others who were in on the plan have been getting hauled off to solitary confinement in the Security Housing Unit. Now there's only 13 of you left - just the right number for a jury... with one left over to act as executioner. It almost goes without saying what you do in supermax to inmates who turn on their fellow cons. Anything you can get your hands on is a weapon. The guards aren't stupid enough to let you have anything as obvious as a pen, or metal cutlery, but even something as innocent as a plastic toothbrush can make a pretty good shank, if you're patient enough to scrape it down to a point on the concrete. Not like there's anything better to do those long nights, anyway. It's time to find the rats and cut them some new orifices, before your whole crew's in solitary and the plan is shot! I'll open the thread this Friday, with the game starting on Monday if I've got enough players. If you want to reserve in the meantime, shoot me a PM. Rules (short version) 1) This is a closed setup game for 13 players. 2) In keeping with the flavor, lynches are "shankings," and night kills represent players being sent to solitary confinement. 3) Shankings always result in a flip, but those sent to solitary will generally have their role janitored. There may be a way, or ways, to get this information, but if you're opposed to the idea of janitored flips on principle, don't play this game! 4) The setup is fairly standard, but not 100% so. Open to players of all levels.

Having decided on a setup, received 6 pre-registrations, and written all my PM flavor, I've decided to open Maximum Security Mafia for regular registration a bit early. I'll start the game as soon as all 13 spots are filled, just not on Sunday, because I won't be around all day then. If it starts on Saturday or before, I will extend the D1 deadline, since I originally said it wouldn't start till Monday. EDIT: And it's filling up fast. Don't procrastinate if you want in. xopods fucked around with this message at 07:49 on Nov 25, 2010 |
