This new release from Reset! off of Hervé's Cheap Thrills is huge! I just heard Sabrage on Radio 1 which surprised the hell outta me. So good and so funky and so edit: VVV ahah holy crap, I totally mistook Reset! for Redial, re-listening to some old Reset! makes you so right! There aren't really any moombahton artists, it's just sort of a gimmick style done by regular djs as a change of pace. If you haven't checked out El Guincho, he's not really moombahton but sample-based latin grooves and his newest album is really great.

Emynd has done a few moombahton remixes. His Barbara Streisand one is pretty good.

While searching for more Moombahton I found a couple really good dj's that do alot of Moombahton stuff. First is DJ A-Mac. His edit of Reset!'s remix of Annie You Save Me as well as his edit of Heads Will Roll are fantastic. Secondly is Munchi. Munchi is a monster when it comes to making latin based grooves. Although its not really Moombahton his remix of Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites is awesome. His remixes are brutal and serious bangers. His original songs are pretty good as well.

Thats from when the original vocal was a bukowski poem, but the sound quality wasnt good enough to hold up so I swapped it out last minute. I'm getting a mate to read a shitload of poetry to me next week for recording and pitching down so it'll be coming back in the final version. I've already got the old one timed up so I'll just need to swap out the audio and do a little balancing. Just got round to listening to the new simian album. Yeah that's probably the one ("Bruv I was making an Aaliyah remix every day for Ł2k"). I didn't listen to the Nu Levels mix, but had checked out some tunes on http://www.youtube.com/user/noodlesgroovechronic . All the new ones seemed a bit rubbish though. Nobody makes cool tunes all the time Tune recommendation time: Mark Pritchard - Out In The Streets http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00v4tv3 at around 10min in, and a bit of the song is here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k8fuT-Pz-z0 on a more electro kick, Mim Suleiman - Mingi, produced by Maurice Fulton http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r8CSmaREXhU Keeping with Fulton, but on more of a house vibe http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r79K6mZt44I From 3min29s on is so sick !! Been hammering both of these tracks since they came out, not surprised they are in the charts, I love 1605 so much. Umek and Jay Lumen - Popgirls (I had a meltdown when I heard these two were making music together again. Rah Band was simply amazing. I love that almost disco-y sound in this track.) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DyDYWfXOBVY Fireball - Christian Cambas (Now this is my kind of techno, the intro and bass drop at 1 minute is probably one of the best I've heard in a long time. What an amazing production. Great breakdown too without getting too housey.) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7GI57mR9uNw

Chitin posted:So if you're planning to DJ with tracks, does 192 cut out the sub bass? I don't believe so, but I know that the difference in quality is definitely more noticeable on a big club system and that most people will recommend you go 256 or higher

# ? Dec 8, 2010 17:35 |

I don't think 192 is as bad as some people make out but you are going to want VBR V2 minimum really i think to play on a good system for maximum effect. I've heard 192 on big car systems at least and it wasn't that noticable though to be honest...

Chitin posted:So if you're planning to DJ with tracks, does 192 cut out the sub bass? It's the opposite, actually: It cuts out the higher pitched sounds. More samples per second means a higher possible frequency. And it just makes things sound clearer. I personally can't stand anything under 320 kbps, because there's just so much of a difference to me when mixing between high- and low-quality songs. Though sometimes I settle for 256 and just turn up the treble a bit. Calculon posted:Has anyone ever posted Shook in this thread? I like this video. That is insanely funky.
