A high-luck playthrough gets you enough caps from every casino that having an alternative route to ~phat loot~ is nice, I guess. My first playthrough, it wasn't til quite late on (when my repair was high enough and I got Raul/jury rig so didn't need to pay a fortune for repairs of unique items) that I actually had money to spare. Just go ahead and put it near the bottom of your load order like this: LUMENARIUMandELECTROCITY - Nevada Skies Replacer.esp (comes with Electro-City, install Nevada Skies normally but use this ESP instead) URWLNV.esp Electro-City - Completed Workorders.esp Electro-City - Highways and Byways.esp (If you want) IMAGINATOR.esp URWLNV Darker Night.esp http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=35315 (Also optional if you want dark nights) (I'm not sure where Lumenarium fits in here since I'm not using it, check the Lumeniarum/Electro-City readmes to figure it out) Then disable the weather effects for Nevada Skies in-game (not the storm effects unless you don't want rain or sandstorms) and tweak around with the Imaginator until you get everything custom tailored to your liking. Also I think the CASM hotkey is F4 by default? Try holding that in for a few seconds after unchecking and reactivating the mod maybe? potaties fucked around with this message at 10:37 on Jan 16, 2011 |

Mr. Carlisle posted:Dunno if this has been posted yet but the guy behind "Electro City" has come out with an expanded new tool called "The Imaginator" that allows you to have an inventory tool to change almost everything about how the visuals in New Vegas are presented. Contrast, color saturation, filters - it's basically got everything you need to fine tune the game to look how you want it to. This is a wonderful mod. Got my game looking perfect with one mod and it's all in game. The distance blur is especially nice, the game looks so much prettier now. A+++ The screen shots don't really do it justice, the lights POP and there's no over saturation or overkill darkness like I've always ended up with all the other lighting mods. But I really learned to love it thanks to the freeside-strip entrance cell being bugged to darker nights with my old version. I happened to start the van graff door protection mission at 1am. Not being able to see the guys the doorman called out until they passed within the edge of the lights 10 feet away really gave it an intense and moody feel, since I didn't know whether shots would start flying at me from the darkness.

I think I just have to turn any darker nights options off, they just annoy me too much by being ridiculously dark. I honestly don't know if any of these guys have actually walked around in the desert at night, if the moons out you can see a long long way - the light doesn't magically stop 2 feet from you and delve into inky, impenetrable blackness. Same goes for the ambient light anywhere near a light source - it travels a decent way before dropping off. If it was half again as dark as vanilla I think I would enjoy it but as is it just adds a layer of frustration that doesn't outweight the 'oooh pretty' factor. I did find quite a nice night vision mod that replaces the PB light which in turn means it won't take up an apparel slot: Pipboy NV

Welp, I was about to finish up something similar myself in the GECK but the guy who made URWL beat me to it. Looks like Marcurios has finally altered Nevada Skies to use URWL's color schemes, which means you can FINALLY get Nevada Skies' sunrises, skies and sunsets along with URWL's saturation/contrast tweaks. You can pick it up at the URWL main mod page: http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=35570 You can still use the URWL Darker Nights mod after as long as you load it later in your load order. Recommended load order is as follows: (optional) URWLNV (Is it still necessary to load this?? I have no idea, there are some materials packaged in it that aren't in the URWLified NS esp - either way, it's not likely to cause crashes if you do) Electro-City - completed workorders ELectro-City - Highways and Byways Nevada Skies - URWLified (optional)URWLNV Darker Night Electro-City - Imaginator This is the sweet spot for making NV look as good as it can look in my opinion, it combines the two best parts of the two best mods AND you can tweak it yourself with imaginator.
