Okay I really like Dark Tranquility, specifically Damage Done (pretty much every song) and Haven (a few of them), but going through their other discs that I've been able to find it seems like those two are pretty different from their usual sound. Or maybe not, is there anything similar to these out there?

They always get compared to Tom Waits and Captain Beefheart too. Other options are Gogol Bordello (who they recently went on tour with) and a local band called Rapskallion. And of course there is all the older bands those bands love, The Undertones, Cheap Trick, the Adolescents, The Nerves, The Only Ones, The Members, etc
