This weekend I'm going to this party on South Beach: http://www.masquerademiami.com/ It doesn't say on the main page, but this also has Duck Sauce (A-Trak and Armand) and Calvin Harris. More "mainstream" electro in general, but it should be really fun and it only cost me $45.

Worse come to worse I'll actually run out of kandi's that just make fun of people. But gently caress it, It's Jack Beats and Kill The Noise at the Civic, and usually the Civic system is pretty good... To be honest I think that the VitalSC management are over dubstep and Jack Beats is their way of trying to bridge the gap between Dubstep and Electro/fidget. I just don't see any point to listening to dubstep, Jack Beats can even get to be too much wobble for me at times.

It's called the 418 project. Ever seen an advertisement for those BASS-OFFs or whateverthefuck they're called? Vital has a monthly Dubstep show there, and it's packed wall to wall with high school kids on drugs. And Excision seems to come to this town every loving month to make a sellout show at the Catalyst. Kids around here love dubstep and Vital loves throwing all-ages dubstep shows full of 14 year olds wearing beads and high on piperazines. I was so pissed when they put Zedds Dead on the lineup because it's just going to attract the dubdouches, but I'm hoping that since Zedd's dead is on before Jack Beats (unless vital is retarded with timeslots) all the bassdouches will leave.

The 418 has been a hangout for the same douchebags for years, the Vital 418 shows really arent changing things at all. The problem with Vital is they literally cannot put on even a 16 and up show because not enough people would come and they would lose money.

Vernacular posted:Gotta love it when out of touch record label suits orchestrate a remix album. Well to be fair Disney got some names that the average music fan has heard of The Crystal Method, Paul Oakenfold, Moby. I can almost guarantee Daft Punk had little to do with picking the people on the record though. It doesn't have the feel nor the selection you would expect out of them. Look at the artists on the previous two remix albums and then look at this. Pedro is right it is like someone looked at a list of people who have done popular remixes in the last 10 years and offered them a spot. Is there really anyone unknown or up and coming on it? I mean if you are going to do a greatest hits of remixers they could have at least gone all out.

Furnace posted:The trifecta of poo poo. I don't know of any specific tracks of theirs that have been truly incredible in the last few years, but I saw both Crystal Method and Oakenfold at Voodoo Fest last year and they put on great shows, especially TCM. And Oakenfold's Tranceport gives him a pass for life in my eyes. I know they aren't currently relevant like other electronic artists and nothing they've done recently can be considered innovative, but they've both got some great material under their belts and they both get crowds moving. Moby, though...poo poo, he hasn't put out anything worthwhile in the past decade, has he? Rageaholic fucked around with this message at 23:15 on Mar 20, 2011 |

I saw Oakenfold about 5 years ago, and in his rider, it proclaimed that the opening dj's couldn't play faster than 120 bpm. Then Oakenfold came out, and trainwrecked nearly every mix. And The Crystal Method are literally rehashing nu-skool breaks from the last 15 years over and over.

Whats with the turn against Moby and Oakenfold? They had a hand in making the genre that we love blow up in the 90s, and no doubt influenced the newer generation of producers! I mean, come on. 5 years, 19 years, who gives a poo poo? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=er7_D33DTMY

Guys, could you help me find a song? I heard a pretty cool disco house track on a french online radio station and I believe it's called "made for love" or something like that. The artist's name is 4 letters, like XCBD ? The song itself has some seriously intense moaning toward the end. I know this is kind of vague and a longshot, but hopefully someone knows what I'm talking about.
