I had a cat, but he got mauled by my sister's dog when he went outside one day. Anyway here's my desktop, laptop soon to be replaced by new desktop computer (note the smudged up iPod Touch and the slightly torn desk chair)!

what the heck happened to your mouse? Or is it supposed to be imprinted with some sort of design?

Yea it's the design on the mouse. That thing is like 3-4 years old and it's just starting to sputter on me. Gotta love Logitech mice

Sorry if it's been asked or if there's a better place to ask, but what do you guys recommend in terms of using a desktop computer while reclined? Presently I just have my legs up on my desk with my keyboard in my lap, but I feel like there's got to be more comfortable solutions. I really can't sit without reclining my back for longer than 10 minutes or so. The solution that comes to mind is buying an actual recliner chair and using a flexible monitor mount (or two). That seems a little over the top though. Is there maybe a non-corner desk that would allow me to elevate my legs somehow?

MC Fruit Stripe posted:To piggyback - the problem with your desk was never fitting the stands for your monitors, it's the monitors themselves. When the new stands arrive, you still have to account for 63" of monitor with 55" of space. Your heart's in the right place, but you're addressing the wrong issue. Strongly agree that you cancel your order and switch to a bigger desk. I was going to be all like "yeah well these goons just don't know how good I am at this poo poo and started mounting the arms on the desk when I realized you were all right. Which is okay because I had an old desk I was using for painting just sitting around. I didn't have time to sand off the excess spray on the desk, but I'll do that at a later date. To be fair, with a little work (maybe a new glossy paintjob or even just some polishing) that could be a really fantastic-looking desk. I love those '40s-'70s style desks that look like they could survive a nuclear blast.

They are quite awesome and can be had for pretty cheap, but goddamn are the heavy as gently caress and hard to move.

Droid Washington posted:Is there a way to do this on dual monitors, with a different background on each, and have it set to slideshow mode? Not that I am aware of within Windows 7. I don't have dual monitors here so I cannot test, but you may be able to take your two backgrounds and mash them together side by side, so then you would still have one image being selected for your background, then rotate through those.

This is a crude fix. (Though it does work.) Certain applications can do it. DisplayFusion, UltraMon or MultiMon should have that function. (And better multiple monitor desktop backgrounds as well.)
