A few weeks back there was a lot of talk about Nu Disco / Disco house (such as Phantom's Revenge - A Better Day). Well I stumbled across a fantastic album. Shiny Disco Club - "Millenium Disco" Free download there too!! I'm in love!! I just can't get enough of it. Some standouts are Galactik Knights - Apocolypse Cheap Kidz - Calypso Lebatman - Shootout Keep bringing on the Disco (I'm looking at you Melee....)

For DJing I use Traktor and a few USB devices: An Oxygen 8 v2, an M-Audio X-Session Pro and a Fastrack 4ch USB. The Oxygen 8 is bulky but I really like the way I've got the keys mapped on Traktor. It's just very intuitive and I have a lot of effects at my immediate disposal. For DAW I first use Korg DS-10 Plus on two Nintendo DS consoles and eventually Garage Band. I filter the DS's on the way in with a Mini-Kaoss Pad, a digital modelling guitar amp with a line-out and sometimes Garage Band filters. (Thanks for asking and glad you liked it!)

Thanks for all the feedback. I wanted to know, I'm not sure if it's a South African creation or just dubbed psy tech by our dj's because it sounds slightly psy trancish in a way, but does anyone know this style of techno and if you know of any producers. http://soundcloud.com/gokonrave http://soundcloud.com/emoutikon Crazy C fucked around with this message at 14:03 on Mar 25, 2011 |

This evening I caught Sidney Sampson, Martin Solveig, and then Avicii. We were walking toward the enormous main stage to see Pendulum for a bit when we heard Tinie Tempah start playing Miami 2 Ibiza. Then Pendulum ... Tomorrow is Bag Raiders, Afrojack, Simian Mobile Disco's crazy new live show, Boys Noize, Moby, Cut Copy, Empire of the Sun... Flashing Twelve posted:Moderat

I've never been, but isn't Baltimore still pretty cool? I remember hearing a lot about B-More stuff a few years ago. edit: For content, I've heard a couple cool Daft Punk remixes lately that I want to share. Daft Punk - Technologic (LeBatman Rework) kind of an 80s/disco sound. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FKLPnCqr7t4 Bearbot - New York. Not so much a remix, but its a Girl Talk type mashup of various hip hop samples over Digital Love. Pretty sweet. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zq561uyF4OE MustangCharlie fucked around with this message at 15:17 on Mar 27, 2011 |

Moombahton all the time, Tittsworth plays great bmore club, Will Eastman does great classic house. U St music hall survived its first year so it looks like its here to stay and its past capacity every weekend. There are other events too, "Glow" is a show I guess, that switches venues now and then. Next weekend is Forward Fest, a EDM festival. Summertime has starscape in bmore. Its pretty good. Also congrats on GWU try to live in thurston cause its a madhouse. 9:30 club gets the big names like laidback luke and tiesto if you wanna shell out 50+, and Richmond VA gets big names too, bassnectar et al. Its not NYC but then again what is. Longtiem fucked around with this message at 20:00 on Mar 27, 2011 |

Threatis is really the man for that, but, here are some songs that are kind of important as per my research into bmore. The problem with Bmore is that it's internet presence is worse even than dancehall's internet presence, which I thought was the worst, so, half the time I don't know who the original artist is or anything. The important names that I know of: KW Griff, DJ Tameil, Blaqstarr, DJ Sega, King Tutt, Tittsworth, Ayres, and Miss Tony (wiki article) One of the things that it is very (Artist Unknown to Me) - You Can't Wu-Tang Better Than Me http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PmBVGi0gWDs KW Griff - Footstompin http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=crEeu-RDpaI Aretha Franklin - R.E.S.P.E.C.T. (KW Griff Remix) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9yBzIo9dYMY Miss Tony/Big Tony - EA EA http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X7oQndB4Fk0 Miss Tony - Pull Ya Gunz Out http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B-X5eS4ZWS4 Frank Ski - Tony's Bitch Track http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sp7REpywVBQ The "Ladies and gentlemen" from Tony's Bitch Track eventually gets sampled by KW Griff in the song Tony's Back, that Diplo put on his site for free KW Griff - Tony's Back http://maddecent.com/tracks/kw_griff_-_tony_s_back-mp3 Tony's Back is easily my favorite Bmore song. I really love Bmore. It's probably the funnest to dance to.
